Let’s talk about the Texans

They are good and tough, noon game at Arrowhead. Your thoughts?

It’s human, I’d be the same way. It’s damn hard to keep putting in your 110% all year long when you’re already on top of the world, your body is beat to shit after long seasons, everyone is calling you the next GOAT, you’ve got small kids running around…

But this offseason is shaping up to be one where he should be motivated to shut these MFers up who are wanting to give Allen the crown without winning shit yet.
I don't know that it is getting lazy per se.

I think the physical effort of all the additional games since 2018 is adding up. They have a season that is 5 weeks longer than everybody elses. If the offseason is 20 weeks long, roughly, they have 20% less time to recover. Plus, it's been 6 years, average of 5 weeks, they've been locked in and working 30 weeks more than the schlub for a shit heel team. Even if they had a bad year once (which all the contenders except us have) it would give them a reset year.

The physical side is one thing, the mental is another. I think that's where they're wearing down. Nobody talks about it but they're not machines.

Chiefs have 11 sacks and 22 QB hits in the last three games.

CJ Stroud is about to be turned into a side dish at Stroud's.

We're also nearing a point where we've gotta discuss his health. He's been banged up seemingly every year.

For all the screaming people do about running more or not protecting him enough with play calls or game script in “meaningless” games, if we and he would simply play better he would be taking far less hits and far less snaps. Yesterday being a perfect example. If we handle that game like a dozen other teams would have he would have been sitting the entire fourth quarter and not gotten injured. Heck if Mahomes just hits the open Grey the play before we don’t have to go for the fourth down where he got injured.

I fully understand this reasoning but Mahomes is obviously beat up right now and resting him against Houston would give him extra time to recover before both the Pittsburg and the Denver games. I don't think he will sit against Houston but I could see it as a possibility if he is hurt worse than we currently know.

Last I saw, the Texans were 2.5 pt favorites. Everyone should be hammering KC +2.5 because Mahomes is definitely playing.

Agree Dline should feast again this week. Another defense led win by our top 4 defense. They've carried the team the last two seasons and are good enough to ride it to another SB.

If it really is a high ankle sprain I cannot believe the amount of people that think he should keep playing on it.

It's not a high ankle sprain if they were ready to send him back out there against Cleveland. And they were.

People are WAY overreacting. And being pussies about it too.

Besides, it's not about wanting him to play. It's acknowledging reality. He's going to play. There's not a chance in hell he sits.

That line says they think Mahomes isn't playing.

Carson Wentz is the 2nd best QB in the AFC West...at least his performance will be like it when in an Andy Reid system.

The guy has a career 90 QB rating. He had a season where he had a 79 QBR.

Let him play vs the Texans. Then if we win, let him play again vs Steelers. If we lose vs the Texans then we can throw Mahomes out there on XMAS.

Honestly this could be a blessing in disguise and get Mahomes some time to chill, get healthy and get right.

Winning against Houston with Wentz, therefore allowing Mahomes to sit again vs. PIT, would be massive.

Or they lose them both and miss the #1 seed. Sounds like a great plan.

I'm not sure why everyone is talking this way? Why would you bloody take a chance by not playing Mahomes? If Wentz was better he would be the starter...I mean you have to win this game...this is the easiest of the three left...you lose against Houston, kiss the #1 seed goodbye...
