Being an actual Old Geezer I have been a fan of the Chiefs every since they moved here from Texas. My list is heavily weighted with the old timers that I grew up with (also heavily weighted for the defense).
15. Sherrill Hedrick. Nicknamed "Psycho" I loved this hard hitting LB. 14. Christian Okoye. A Mac truck in the backfield. 13. E. J. Holub. The toughest SOB to ever put on a KC uniform, bar none 12. Tony Gonzalez. Can't leave him off the list. 11. Buck Buchanan. Ultimate run stuffer. 10. Otis Taylor. Favorite WR of all time. 9. Johnny Robinson. We've had some great DBs-he's my favorite. 8. Will Shields. Absolutely lights out on the OL. 7. Priest Holmes. My favorite RB. 6. Derrick Thomas. One of many great Chief's LB's. 5. Travis Kelsey. Gives 100% all the time. 4. Bobby Bell. See Derrick Thomas. 3. Willie Lanier. My favorite of all the LB's. 2. Pat Mahomes. He and Lenny should be 1 A and B 1. Len Dawson. Grew up with him; still my favorite.

I remember that 70's defense of Buchanan, Lanier, Culp, Bell.
Tough MFers, all of them.

I am guessing Daniel is a favorite because he has gotten the most for doing the least. Good for him but far from what most would elevate to a favorite list. Berry burnt up any good he had done for the team with his Hauglands problem and the way in which he handled that situation and his contract situation. For him to act and speak to the public as the Chiefs had wronged him after they paid his full contract and treated him as a Ring of Honor candidate made him a POS in my and most people's minds. I too liked Green as he was great on multiple levels. But how can he be ahead of Mahomes, etc.?

Actually kind of amusing seeing the different lists. A lot of the same usual suspects. I've got a few as well.. but I've also got some curveballs.
1. Jamaal Charles 2. Priest Holmes 3. Patrick Mahomes 4. Tyreek Hill 5. Derrick Thomas 6. Justin Houston 7. Eric Berry 8. Travis Kelce 9. Larry Johnson 10. Will Shields 11. Marcus Allen 12. Joe Montana 13. Brandon Flowers 14. Andre Rison 15. Derrick Johnson |

This is actually harder than I thought...I started watching the Chiefs when my family moved back to the states in the mid 80's but I was always a Chiefs fan. Since they sucked so bad in the 80's, I never really got to see them on TV much. So, the players I remember and loved, in NO particular order:
James Hasty Neil Smith Derrick Thomas Dan Saleamua Joe Montana Marcus Allen Dante Hall Tony Gonzales Priest Holmes Will Shields Jared Allen Tyreek Hill Travis Kelce Patrick Mahomes Derrick Johnson Tamba Hali ...that's one too many, but like I said, this is hard. There are more of course...A LOT more...

It's easy to have favorite players who are multiple pro bowlers. I present to you my list of my 15 favorite Chiefs who never made a pro bowl (as a Chief). Again, these are not my impressions of the best Chiefs who never made a pro bowl (apologies for excluding Dave Szott, Tamarick Vanover, and Joe Phillips from my list), but rather guys that I particularly liked.
I will only include non-active players since most or all of our active players will end up in the pro bowl soon. 15. Ed Beckman. Ed Beckman was a tight end for the Chiefs for eight years, and he only started in 11 games during that time. But there was a time when he was about the only consistent presence the Chiefs had, and for half of my youth Ed Beckman was on the bench. I liked Ed just because he hung in there during the worst years. 14. Damien Williams. I don't understand why this guy wasn't a superstar. He made some amazingly great plays during the Super Bowl season, and he was Mr. Playoffs. 13. Willie Davis. He was a fast and shifty guy. I liked JJ Birden too, but Davis seemed like a slightly larger version. 12. Sean Smith. I like good cornerback play, and it was really interesting to watch a really tall guy play the position well. 11. Danan Hughes. Special teams! He lived for it, and I loved that. 10. Shaunard Harts. I still think this guy could've been great. He was a truck at hitting, and he was productive any time he got on the field. 9, Andy Studebaker. He made plays. He knew football. I'm surprised that his career didn't take off. He did everything he needed to do. 8. Tracy Simien. Run stuffer. Run stuffing inside linebackers never get the fame, but Simien was one of the best. 7. Allen Bailey. This is mostly because of how intimidating he would have been getting off the bus. Does anyone look more like a football player than Allen Bailey? 6. John Welbourn. See above. Welbourn looked like a giant out there on the field. I liked seeing him dwarfing the other players. 5. Bashaud Breeland. Good cornerback play. Bashaud was dancing Swan Lake out there. He was so smooth and graceful. 4. Anthony Davis. DT got all of the credit at OLB, but Anthony Davis was really good over on the strong side. He could do anything. The LB corps of DT, Simien, and Davis was spectacular. 3. Todd McNair. Has there ever been a more fun third-down back? He did that and destroyed people on special teams as well. 2. Jason Dunn. Yep, another giant. How can you not like watching Jason Dunn plow people under as the world's greatest blocking tight end? 1. Stephone Paige. How did this guy not make a pro bowl? He was the third WR for a while behind (I think) Henry Marshall and Carlos Carson, and I thought he was a great slippery WR.
