The 'feel good' thread.

In the middle of all this craziness in the world, I felt we need a thread to post pictures, video clips, or anecdotes to help us deal with the funk we all feel. This won't make up for all the hurt we feel for Boston and all other human sufferings in the world, but hopefully it's at least a small dose of soothing remedy on our nerves.

I wasn't lecturing. Just reminding you of scientific fact. I was not aware you were gone or were planning on leaving forever. That would make me sad. The planet is better with you here than not. Now, I need to feel good. Boobies are always good.

Mods never consider the fact that a forum like this is for the benefit of ALL of its members. Some are too scared to ruffle the feathers of the vocal neanderthals and a couple carry membership cards of that group. That is why I am sad about the CP and how it keeps losing classy members. Where is GAZ? Where is Go Bowe? Where is Mr. FAX? How long before Rain Man leaves?

As for my leaving. I didn't mention that as a threat nor as want of sympathy. I never planned to stay this long after I returned. I got caught up with the draft talk and encouraged by some genuine welcome response by posters who I respect and who sadly post very infrequently now. I can see that this place is still run by the inmates. Very unpleasant place to be.

And Phil, I wasn't planning to stay long anyway. Just until after the draft, and the finishing an unfinished business. So if you are happy with what this forum has become you are welcome to it.

I don't think I'm scared of ruffling anybody's feathers. I'm just not going to protect somebody who brings most of what they get on themselves. This thread is a good example of that. You started it knowing exactly what was going to happen. It happened. But you're not instigating. How do you rectify that one in your mind?

That's a magnificent looking animal. I'm not hesitant to limit my true feelings. It's a beautiful car. this points out the following, though:

I can compartmentalize my feelings. I can lock horns with someone in DC and express agreement with or even rep them for a football post. Some posters take the political debates so far into personal hatred that they just HAVE to make stupid derogatory personal comments on football posts or social commentary. That's what hurts me. The intent, not the comments. It shows me how devolving is celebrated in this little corner of humanity. Case in point this very thread. I have been feeling bad about Boston and the 2nd man-killing earthquake in short order where I come from. So here I made an attempt at an emotional outlet for myself and for everybody else. For my effort the paranoid among you have rewarded me with accusations of "goat humping" and "button pushing."

Despite how a lot of posters here assume, I almost never post in anger, but I do sometimes post in disappointment. Disappointment in the devolving humanity. Words of disappointment are often easily construed as anger for your lack of clues from access to my facial expressions etc. If I allowed myself to be angry, and with my ticker, BELIEVE ME, I would have been 6 feet under by now. I am one of the original members of this forum and that's why I care for it. But I am very sad and disappointed in what it's allowed to be.
