So lets talk some legit options for our pick.

So with Breeland coming back that pretty much leaves us open to take the best player on the board.

I'd like in this thread to post some videos and such since in a lot of threads there are questions about how good a guy is and what he can do so twitter and youtube of course are great for vids.

Even though I've pined for Willie Gay quite a bit there are numerous other guys I'd be fine with using our pick on because well they'd be fine fits.

So I'll start with some Willie Gay video since I've been asked a few times what he's good at...

Some highlights, and lowlights from my draft guide...

“The most complete back in this draft, runs with the savvy of a veteran. Outstanding vision with the patience for allowing blocks to come. Body control and smooth hips allow him to stay in high gear when changing direction. Strings moves together and makes tacklers miss at the second level. Good initial burst, excellent balance through contact and enough speed to hit the homer in. Will be an immediate contributor in the passing game with natural hands, doesn’t lose anything transitioning from runner to receiver. Teams will be able to line him up in a variety spots. Will stick his nose in as a pass protector, where he is quick to recognize free blitzers.

-

“Doesn’t have the elite speed of other top backs, and doesn’t overpower defenders through contact. His workload was kept in check thanks to depth in Georgia’s backfield, and there are questions about what he can handle at the next level. He never had 200 carries in a single season.

thanks. And i just saw that Swift was brought up in the other thread, so I apologize for Qing.

Note: Kamara has never carried more than 194 times in a season in the NFL. his average has been about 170 (something like that) carries/season.

Also, ESPN had Swift going as the first RB to be taken in the draft. Again, I don't necessarily have the utmost faith in ESPN foretelling, but there it is.

After that there’s certainly talent, but guys like Jones and Cleveland will be overdrafted, not the other way around. This isn’t the WR class we’re talking about here. Positional value pushes everybody up, unlike WR.

Most people do not have a 1st round grade on Cleveland. Some have as low of a 3rd round grade. In other words, you’re way off here bud. Cleveland is absolutely not a top 32 player in this draft. That’s not just my opinion, it’s an overwhelming consensus.

Jones at 32 would actually be good/equal value, but you’re kidding yourself if you think he make it there. There’s absolutely no chance of that happening. I’m just saying they won’t take an OT at 32 if it’s BPA. I’m saying it 100% won’t be.

If either of those two were drafted in the top 15 in any draft, it wouldn’t be because they’re top 15 players. It would be a ridiculous reach. Just look at last years draft. Neither of these guys are anywhere near as good as Jonah Williams who went 11th.
Is that so? Seems to me teams have a 1st rd grade on him and he could go in the top 15 this year.

@ anybody that thinks Ezra Cleveland in the 1st isn’t a reach. You’re basing this purely off measurables and clearly haven’t watched him play.

When I said nobody had a 1st round grade on him, I’m talking about the experts. Unfortunately, there’s no telling what some NFL teams think. I actually even said on that post that he will be overdrafted because of positional value. He’s still not a top 15 talent in other drafts like you suggested. That’s a ****ing joke.

It’ll be an LJ Collier level reach, just more justified based on upside/athleticism.

He’s a 2nd round talent at best, and the Browns might be the only team who thinks otherwise.

You can go ahead and side with the analytics guys if you want to. I’ll stick to the tape.

Would anybody else here pound the table for top 15 talent Ezra Cleveland at 32 besides RunKC?

I’ll wait....

Pound the table? No, definitely not. Be okay if that was the pick at 32? Yes.

Watch his 2018 tape. Kid is good in pass pro and continues to develop. He needs strength but his athleticism and technique are there. There's a chance he goes in 1. I don't have him there based on strength of the class overall and at his position but I think he'd easily be a guy that would go top-20ish in most classes.

If I have to go back and watch his 2018 tape, he’s not a top 15 caliber player.

Matt Miller and Daniel Jeremiah are two of the best in the business and don’t even have this guy in their top 50. Those guys are as connected as anybody, so if multiple teams rated him that high, he’d be in there.

The Browns and their analytic team trading back to draft him isn’t enough to sell me that he’s not a reach.

I dont really watch College football but that seems like a reasonable measuring stick...anyone can run for 15 yards if they arent touched.

Out of curiosity...I watched Helaire's highlights and he looked pretty amazing....that said, he's 209/Taylor is 226 and ran a 4.39... nearly .5 faster than Sammy Watkins.
Nice...he's going to be a killer in this offense.
