One positive I will draw out of this--Maclin won't be there anymore for Alex to force feed in the red zone. Last year, if Maclin ran that slice route from the slot in the red zone, you could be sure the ball was going to Maclin. It was successful in 2015 well, but defenses took notice in 2016 as it didn't work at all.

Ross Travis spent much of the offseason in Los Angeles working with Tony Gonzalez. Hopefully, we'll see a difference on the field. He certainly has all of the physical attributes to play at a high level at the position. Escobar is my under the radar sleeper signing and I hope he takes this opportunity to shine.

They kept 4 tight ends last season, which to me, was a reflection of not having much at the position as opposed to a solid #2 and #3. If two tight ends can separate themselves behind Keclce, it would go a long way in providing depth at a more crucial position.

Hopefully, Harris goes bye-bye.

Very good point. Harris has potential but his drops are constant and usually drive ending. He frustrates me to no end. He'll also start out the season suspended I imagine.

You would think Escobar, Travis, or Orson Charles would step up and be that guy. My money would be on Escobar to provide a passing threat as TE2, and step up his physicality just enough in the running game to provide adequate blocking.

If there is a promising TE#2 of those choices then I'm sure it made this decision easier. Those 2 and 3 tight end sets are nasty. Huge for the running game too.

Agree. I sure hope so.

Escobar was a 2nd round pick not too many years ago, makes me wonder if Dorsey found a gem in a guy who was buried in the depth chart playing behind Witten. That would be a nice surprise. He has the potential to be a red zone guy like Harris showed glimpses of for us last season down the stretch. In 2014 Escobar had an amazing 4 touchdowns on just 13 entire targets that season. Wow. He has only 48 targets in his career but has 8 touchdowns to go with them.

I think Wilson ****ing sucks and hope that he's beaten out for a roster spot by anyone.

Mr. Alligator Arms can go away.

I think Demarcus Robinson looking good is a foreshadowing to a potential Wilson cut, which would be awesome.

But then again, that's only 5 receivers. I think Wilson will win the 6th spot over the UDRFA's.

Wilson plays hard and with intensity, the arms are definitely a liability. But he's had some solid touchdowns for us the last couple years and Reid seems to like him.

Terez has mentioned that Seantavius Jones has been catching everything. He's been in the system for a year and heads into his second training camp with a better chance to make the roster.

It's going to be an interesting preseason since there's no cut to 75. I expect the wide receiver competition to go down to the wire for the final spot.

One 'surprise' cut that I am expecting... Phillip Gaines. If that's even a surprise at this point.

I think the CBs might be: Peters, Nelson, Mitchell, White, Lampkin, and maybe Bausby or McQuay (if they count him as a nickel CB).

No reason to keep Gaines at this point. He's broke.

If he plays well in preseason (and I acknowledge that's a big "If" considering his injury history), some team will give up a 5th for him in next year's draft.

Dorsey got a 5th for Kelcie McCray, FFS.

If Gaines is healthy and the Chiefs are happy with their depth, Gaines is expendable and tradeable.

Plus, we don't know if Kelce is going to be 100% ready to go with his surgery for preseason. I assume he will and it's not a big deal, but it's not a bad idea to keep some able bodies at the position on hand.

LeSean McCoy says he has been "recruiting" free agent Jeremy Maclin to sign with the Bills.

The fit makes sense for a Bills team that can't count on Sammy Watkins' health and is dealing with a knee injury to second-round pick Zay Jones. Maclin obviously has history with McCoy from Philadelphia, where Bills coach Sean McDermott's time as a defensive coordinator and secondary coach also overlapped. Buffalo would be a poor spot for Maclin's fantasy outlook, however.

Better there than in Oakland, I suppose.
