Impressive to hop out of a pool like that. Now someone needs to teach him the Willie Roaf old man shuffle. That is the path to his success.

He says "If a guy isn't hitting fastballs or breaking balls, you send him to AAA...." Eh, not really. Not always. And definitely not if you think the guy has the tools but has timing issues. Happens to young hitters all the time. They get 'caught in between' -- they're ahead of the curve/change and behind the fastball. And they just get stuck there. Then they lose the strike zone all together. Do you send them to AAA? No. Do you bench them? Again, not always. What you do sometimes is you give them a hit and run the first time a batter's on base. You get them out of their head and get their focus on nothing more than swinging the bat and making contact. Take away the noise. Go back to history - let's say you have militia troops you don't entirely trust. Do you have them hold the rear as a sort of vanguard? Nope - you fix bayonets and charge with them. So what you may want to do is actually make Kingsley more aggressive somehow. Drive blocking in the run game is an easy example. In the passing game, maybe you try some RPOs? Because in an RPO situation, he's in a run-block stance and technique. And theoretically the RPO would also slow the rush. And it happens so quick that, similar to a hit and run, he doesn't really have much time to think. I really think I'd focus on the RPO game this week. See if that breaks him loose a little bit and gets him playing a little more free.

He said that he's comfortable learning a new playbook and won't need much time to be ready to play but that he isn't interesting in changing positions at this stage of his career. "I am and love being a left tackle, but I do also want to win a Super Bowl. That's something that is really, really big too. That's one of the biggest things that's kind of evaded me and has been extremely elusive to this point in my career." I mean….Brett has to have had an open line of communication with David’s agent, right? Here’s the question though…would that hold back Kingsley if we signed David to a 2 year deal? He would need to still prepare as the starter each week, but wouldn’t be getting the reps to improve with. Tough call, but if David’s knee isn’t getting filled with fluid after workouts, I’d say it’s worth the cap space to bring him in and let him “make the OL great again”. |

Why can't one of the Tight Ends help out? It seems like we have 2 or 3 of those out there every snap this year.

If you want to break Kingsleys confidence you sign a Vet LT now. Which is why I would have brought that person in at the end of camp. If I’m Andy I’m starting the kid and using the RB and TEs to chip all day long. And I pas the ever living shit out of the ball vs the Falcons

Yeah, but he was the 13th pick in the draft. 1st round picks are supposed to be able to do that.

They need to protect KS with play calls a bit, though. Some reps he lost almost instantly and you can’t have that with 15 back there. I was impressed with his post game comments, and think he’s going to improve each week. He’s going to have his hands full the rest of the way… Judon Bosa and Mack Cam Jordan/Chase young Bye Bosa Crosby Doesn’t really face another top pass rusher till the end of November when he faces Maxx again. Bosa/Mack Myles Garrett Hunter/Hughes/Anderson Watt There really aren’t any gaps in there. I could absolutely see Veach making a move for David Bakhtiari if Kingsley isn’t showing improvement going into the bye. |
