no need to tip our hat, throw everything short in pre season, as they will be looking for the long ball to start.

give it till week five, then let it rip. defenses will be looking for the deep pass.

Looks like a tip to me too, but i know what you guys mean when you say you've seen his deep passes flutter like that at times. It's impossible to say with that camera angle, but i'm siding with tipped ball.

His first read was Kelce. I think when he saw Watkins.....he hesitated a split second and at that time it was too late. That would have been a tipped ball for sure.

He certainly could (should) have pulled the trigger but it is not like Watkins has a step on his defender, but you need to trust your star receivers.

Great pocket presence BTW.

First read was Kelce for sure. No doubt about it. He's staring right at him and he's the only guy that's actually open aside from the check down that would've resulted in no gain.

Pat was going to let it rip, but was forced to move up because Harris failed. That threw the timing off and the window to Kelce closed. He then looked to strike Watkins but it was already too late.

I don't think that's accurate at all. And if he had tossed it up to Watkins it would've been a 50/50 ball.

This isn't training camp.

Yup.

Plus you can see the reason he pulls it down is a defender going high on his throwing side. If he throws to watkins and the defender gets a piece of his arm or the ball, that's a duck begging to be intercepted.

I don't have a huge problem with that sack, but it looked like he had some underneath options.

I agree to a point. I think with the picks he's thrown in camp, it was his way of not doing something stupid, when it kinda counted more. BUT, I hope he doesn't choose that every time, because his willingness to make stuff happen is part of why KC drafted him. If it's me, I make the deep throw regardless. It's as good as a punt if it's picked off, which KC did the next play anyway. Plus, with todays refs, you never know if you can get a PI call.

Maybe he pulled it down b/c he thought it was gonna get tipped or something or his arm was possibly going to get hit - if that was the case, then it was a great decision. Because a wounded duck interception is NOT as good as a punt.
