Actually nobody has said that, but if you're incapable of understanding anything but up/down and black/white, then I could see how that would be what you got from it.

No. You’re taking the fact that people are saying Mahomes also isn’t playing at the level of last year as some major indictment of him. It’s just the reality.

I’d argue his performance last season was more impressive than any other. He hasn’t come close to replicating that this year, and that’s not just on the WRs who are nearly identical to last season.

So once again… if Mahomes and Andy Reid “lock in”… using your words/reasoning… and MVS/Skyy Moore/Toney continue to play like shit… does anything significantly improve with the offense?

Yes or no.

If Andy Reid 'locks it in', the offense is 'locked in' which means that the players on the offense, some of which are WR's will be playing better football. That means Mahomes is locked in too, as he plays for the Kansas City Chiefs football team.

I know you think you have some gotcha moment here, but really, you just sound like a complete idiot.

Why would Mahomes’ play suddenly drop off?

Seems pretty obvious that playing with the worst WR group of his career is causing the issues.

Unless you think that Mahomes just randomly started to struggle this year and deviate from his normal standard of performance.

Andy Reid not being “locked in” has caused MVS, Skyy Moore and Toney to play like shit through nine games?

Seriously? You don’t think defenses evolve and QBs get confused and don’t process in the same way?

Do you not remember how the 2021 season went? Mahomes and the offense looked far more lost in that sequence against the Titans/Giants/Packers than he has this year and he had the best receiver in the NFL during that period. Why do you think that was?

The NFL isn’t static. The WRs are largely the same as last year. Did they just forget how to play WR?

MVS has taken 373 snaps
Moore has taken 343 snaps
Toney has taken 141 snaps

Again, why are you lumping in Toney with the other two? Dude hasn't been playing nearly as much.

Just for context Rice has taken 276 and Watson 241. Ross is at 81.

I didn't say that. In fact, I don't know that one way or the other. As you said, I missed the MIA game. The 2nd DEN game also. So I'd have to see some metrics, maybe some professional film study, and actually watch those games myself to have any kind of informed opinion about that specific situation.

But I am planning on getting NFL+ or whatever it is before the weekend so I will get a chance to at least see those games and the A-22s soon.

Until then, I really couldn't say.

Toney looks like Toney to me, when they actually use him as a WR. He separates, he's electric with the ball. Other than the terrible first game. I have no idea why they're using him as little as they are, or as weirdly when they do.

Go back and watch Rice's college highlights. We've not even come close to seeing what he does best.

No argument that we're not seeing the results we'd all like.

My argument is that there is talent there, it's not showing yet CONSISTENTLY.

Everything is just a click off.

I'd put money on Andy and Patrick locking it in.
Didn’t say catch and run is bad. But we tripled down on it. It was our solution last year. And defenses have adapted. just because a guy can juke guys out of their shorts doesn’t mean he is a route runner let alone a consistent or smart one. Right now we lack the flexibility to adapt out of catch and run and it shows. We need guys who can create before the ball gets into their hands. While I appreciate the optimism you’re asking for consistency out of guys who have an established career of inconsistency.

I’d bet money that Andy and Patrick will figure it out. They figured it out in 2020 also and we can ride that to the finish. But it’s a bandaid until we can start getting more consistent guys out there.

According to Bleacher Report Gridiron, Kansas City’s pass catchers have dropped no less than 24 passes over the course of the season."

Chiefs receivers lead the league in dropped passes.

So, Andy or Nagy's fault?
How about this: provide some evidence that Chiefs WRs have dropped 24 passes and we can take this argument at face value. Because I don’t think it’s accurate based on the minimal work I did to validate the ‘stats’ you’re putting out there.

"According to Pro Football Reference, Mahomes is posting the highest on-target pass percentage of his career (81.4) paired with the lowest bad throw percentage of his career (11.5). If there was ever a knock on Mahomes, it's his tendency to get overly ambitious in certain spots. Career-best efficiency, combined with the typically impressive surface stats — 2,442 yards, 17 touchdowns, eight interceptions with a 68.6 percent completion rate — highlights just how remarkable Mahomes has been despite a relatively lackluster collection of receivers."

https://fansided.com/posts/patrick-m...-better-chiefs

i know, I know, i'm not giving the right context or something.
