Anybody regret getting Cueto and Zobrist back in 2015? Pretty sure we traded a bunch of lefty farm arms that felt somewhat painful at the time but didn't amount to shit in the long run. Same thinking here...the cliche "Flags Fly Forever" is absolutely true.
I'm not sure the success rate is THAT high. See: Patriot's 2022 draft.

Nagy is good, Rashee Rice is good, and the tackles are better than what we had last year but it takes time to mesh. Mahomes, the coaches and the players are mid season and we are seeing some improvement and I expect that to continue. This has been any rational persons stance since the beginning.
"Nobody" is being thrown under the bus except that people are saying nagy sucks and are claiming WRs are flying open everywhere but mahomes is missing them. Of course these guys need to be better but a lot of it is casually deflecting blame. Obviously there is more going on than just replacing juju. Defenses adapted to us and arguably we doubled down on the same strategy which is to have WRs create after they get the ball. When we ignore that mahomes and Reid are putting round pegs in square holes and insist that our WRs are fine that is shouldering all the blame on everyone else. If we insist that last year is the baseline then the onku explanation is that mahomes and Reid are making it worse. So yeah some of us think we should just call a spade a spade to just admit whar we have in the wr room and accept that in the short term we just need to ask our other guys to do a little extra and grind through it

MVS and Watson should never be played together though. No, I'm not smarter than Reid/Nagy, but it's pretty damn obvious that Watson and MVS are pretty much the same guy and having those both see starting reps at the same time isn't going to lead to a good outcome most of the time, it's wasted reps.

The top 3 should be Rice, Watson, and probably Toney.

Again....when the QB is making what he's making, there's only so much to go around.

They didn't prioritize what some wanted and those guys are making victory laps that the organization made the wrong decisions, when teh same organization is sitting at 7-2 and currently has the 1 seed in the AFC and a bye.

If they were gonna prioritize weapons, they shouldn't have traded the best weapon in the league. They did and went a different direction. Is the WR room an elite unit? **** no.

Is it good enough? I'd argue yes, if the QB plays like we've seen him in the past.

Absolutely should be, given the importance of such cost-controlled assets. As others have noted, "Again....when the QB is making what he's making, there's only so much to go around."

How was it game changing? Chiefs had already taken the lead by that point and were doing whatever they wanted offensively. They would have scored with or without that return.

You can say it was a big play and you're happy about it without trying to make it seem like some pivotal play that would have lost us the game if it didn't happen.

There's absolutely no guarantee that the Chiefs win without it, and it was the biggest PR in SB history.

You could say the Chiefs might not have needed it, but no need to downplay how big of a play it was, or to just assume they win without it. It was a ****ing 1 point game.

Guys, the problem with the OP and many trumpeting that line of thought is that it is overly simplistic to the point of being inaccurate.

We're seeing lots of things happening. It's a little bit inconsistency from the WR's, it's a little bit Mahomes, it's a little bit bizarre play calling - it's several things creating an inconsistent offense.

Look at the scripted 15 in Germany. That's what this offense is capable of, when everyone is doing their jobs correctly.

Script or no, if talent is the problem, those two TD drives don't look like that.

We may not have been in the SB without Skyy's punt return against the Bungles.

Eh, even no talent shit teams can score on script.

Once you're off, the lack of talent would show more.

I'd love to have more talent at WR for sure. But sometimes, shit just doesn't work out. If this doesn't, they'll pivot.

There are only so many plays you can run that are scripted for a reason.

You can't run money plays all game because there are only so many of them.

The WR's need to make plays even when they aren't getting schemed wide open. If you could just script plays to get scrubs open all game no NFL team would pay WR's.

But that hasn't happened yet so stop pretending it can work all game.
