Who Would Win in a Fight Between Bruce Lee and Mike Tyson?

Alright Planeteers, I've been arguing on message boards with people about this off and on for a couple years now and I want to get CP's input on it. The question is this: Who would win in a fight between Bruce Lee and Mike Tyson in his prime? Let's hear it!

Yes, he gives up a lot of size and strength... but I firmly believe he would get in and out with strikes on Tyson, and no amount of Mike lumbering around trying to grab or tackle him would work.

Mike wouldn't be able to hit the guy, atleast not cleanly, period
lmao at Mike not being able to hit Bruce. Better fight would be Jet Li and Bruce

Is that the part where Lee snatches Mike's still beating heart out and shows it to him before he dies?

This. I am going to lean to the martial artist in fight with a boxer. That said a
5' 8" 140 pound man vs a 5' 11 220 pound man who happened to be the heavyweight champion is no sure thing. Anyone who knows anything about fighting knows this could go either way. However the movie and video game people are certain of the outcome. Oh well who can argue~

This whole thought that Tyson was a professional fighter and that makes a huge difference is silly. He fought professionally against boxers, not martial artists. Just like that YouTube video with the kick boxer vs the boxer. Tyson wouldn't know how to defend the knee kicks, and the would get chopped down like a tree. Guys does anyone remember Gracie in the original UFC's. There weren't weight classes and he gave up tons of weight to guys. Lee had ground game, and would **** Tyson up one the ground. Finally Tyson having wrestling experience is total bullshit. He was sent to a Children's Penitentiary at 13? That is where he started boxing, soon after he was picked up by Cus. If you think Cus wrestling you are out of your mind. When would Tyson of learned to wrestle? He was boxing from childhood.

Or Tyson gets ahold of him and slams his 140 pound ass on the ground at a high speed or lands a shot anywhere on him sending him ass over elbows. Have you ever been in a fight in or out of the ring? The certainty of you and others who cannot fathom any possiblity Tyson could win this leads me to think not~

It takes a lot of leg kicks to be effective. The problem I have with this is because of their massive weight difference, Lee would have to avoid a clinch. He'd just have to, and thats not as easy as it sounds.

The problem most martial arts, especially strikers like Karate style martial artists have in a real fight, is that while they trained in their school they lived in a fantasyland where clinching and grappling is not permitted. The reason why Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu fared much better is that they recognize that the clinch is just going to happen and they either embrace it as a way to go to the ground for a submission (jiu-jitsu, and judo to a lesser extent), or they recognize its probably gonna happen and teach you how to continue to fight in a clinch while avoiding a takedown (muay thai). You aren't going to see me praise boxers very often, but at least they also teach boxers how to fight in a clinch.

It takes both fighters to agree that a clinch and a possible takedown is not going to happen, one guy can't reliably avoid it. The other martial arts either pay lip service to ground fighting, or they just tell their students "just don't let them take you down" without further training, as if it was something anyone could easily do.

This. Big guy and little guy lock up even for a second. Big guy throws little guy on ground really ****ing hard. Big guy wins fight. Or grabs and hits little guy really ****ing hard. Big guy wins fight. The fact there are people giving a professional fighter who outweighs this guy buy 80 lbs has no chance is amusing~

Royce Gracie handpicked the entries into the first UFC's. He chose people he knew he could beat in order to promote his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
