i get all that, but to get a guy who even has a 5% chance of helping our offense without even giving up a 7th is worth whatever risk imo.

"Sale" being the operative word. We gain nothing in cap space in 2023 or 2024 by cutting him. We only get relief by trading him. A cut won't happen.

If they can't move him for good value, why cant they just keep him until his contract is up?
That's what I'd do. Maybe things change with him in time. Either way, he's on a rookie deal. No way they'll just relrase him imo.

It's pretty simple, they don't think he's worth keeping, so they're hoping another gm is as reeruned as paton and coughs up a 1st for him. They're also in cap hell, so they need to cut as many vet contracts as possible so they can put a big dent in the rebuild. That said, I don't think they cut him outright.

You do realize he's subject to Waivers, right. Even if he got released (He won't be) We'd be at the bottom of the pecking order.
