Russ didn’t throw his 9th TD pass until week 14 last year. Fast forward to 2023, his 9 TD passes through week 4 ranks 2nd in the NFL. Russ’ drastic improvement is the most underreported story in the NFL this year.

Remember 2018 when the Chiefs had a really bad defense? Mahomes won league MVP and came within a Dee Ford offsides of the Superbowl. Russ, meanwhile, is 1-3 and lost to the Fins by 50 points.

I pointed out Russ’ late season resurgence, how it proved that it was Hackett who was holding him back, and that Russ wasn’t washed. I was met with the usual FatRuss/WalRuss/Russett is washed takes.

Russ should have a league leading 12 TD passes but the Miami refs took away two of Russ’ TD’s with bogus penalties and Sutton dropped one.

But you’ve been acting like Payton flipped a magic switch and “fixed” him overnight. He was playing like this down the stretch last season.

Wilson’s been relatively good, from what I’ve seen, but that trade was still a huge mistake, dude. Your plan to compete with KC was to sell the farm for a lesser QB than Mahomes, with a much weaker roster around him and lesser coaches? While KC piles up high draft picks? Jeez. That dude might be delusional enough to think he carried Seattle, but he isn’t carrying a team anywhere.

And what happens next year? 54 mil over the cap? You won’t be able to add any major FAs and you’ll probably have to make some tough decisions.

You were a better meme when the Broncos were just bad. Just normal levels of bad, along with other trash franchises like the Texans, Lions etc. But now all those teams have turned a corner, while the Broncos are still pissing down their legs in the most embarrassing ways possible, and you're still eating it up like they're paying you. Stats are nice but results matter. Case in point was week 1. Russ had the ball with 6 mins left down 1 point and they punted. Raiders got it back and inevitably lost the game.

You were also up 21-3 and he got outplayed by Sam Howell.

Stats are nice but results are what is needed from a guy making as much as he is making.

What was Russ supposed to do here?

1st down run: loss of 1
2nd down pass: dropped by Sutton
3rd down pass: Automatic first down by Dulcich, but Trautman was in because Dulcich got hurt in the second quarter.

Russ has done his part. It’s the stupid penalties, fumbles, dropped passes, and the defense that has held us back so far this season, not Russ.

1st down: See the blitzer coming from the LH side, understand you don't have a blocker to take care of him, and check to a different play.

2nd down: Throw a better ball that isn't 6 inches off the ground. Sutton was wide open.

3rd down: Don't throw a pass short of the sticks unless you know the receiver can get the first down.
