That’s the most striking example, but you get the idea. Yes, he’s improved slightly from last season? But his performances haven’t been nearly good enough considering who he’s supposed to be, some stats notwithstanding.

He’s probably getting benched at some point, and the bye week seems pretty convenient.

Yep. He's better than last year, but he isn't good. Most importantly, he isn't the type of QB Payton wants. I think he keeps his starting job this year if he keeps playing like this, but he'll be gone next season.

He has 9 targets in his NFL career. Id pump the brakes until we get a little bit more of a sample size. I'll admit I loved him coming out of the draft and wanted him to be a Chief. So far so good. Not sure why Payton is getting him the ball more.
