****Official 2010 ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft Thread****

Welcome to the 2010 ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft.

We have some new owners this year, so here's a quick run-down on the rules.

Each team will have 24 hours from the timestamp of the previous pick to make their selection. If your pick is not made within 24 hours, the next owner is free to make their selection.

The draft order is now final, with the exception of possible compensatory picks. As in past years, if the NFL announces an official list of compensatory picks BEFORE we finish the 3rd round, I'll add them in. If not, the draft order currently listed will remain. Any trades made in real life will NOT change the mock order from this moment on - personally, it's just too much work, and you run the risk of a pick being traded in real life after it's been made here in the mock.

If you think there is any chance you'll miss your pick, please try to send me a PM with a prioritized list of players - I'll select the highest priority player available from your list to keep things moving.

Please try to check in at least once a day, if not several times daily. We've never had an issue finishing 7 rounds in 6 weeks and I don't expect to have a problem this year - but it's up to you guys as owners to stay current.

When making your selection, please post the name, position and school of the player (follow Hamas' lead, he knows the drill - the correct format helps greatly when updating the header) and give a quick blurb about why you selected that particular player. Doesn't have to be a novel.

I'll be in class from 11:00 - 2:00, but I'll log back in to put Hamas on the clock at Noon.

Have fun fellas.

Although the Patriots recently re-signed Leigh Bodden, their cornerback depth is pitiful at best. The drafting of Brandon Meriweather and Patrick Chung should have fixed their safety situation.

Obviously, they still have holes at 5 technique and rush backer, but the value here is better, although I'm ****ing pissed that I missed out on Williams.

This guy has the skills to be an elite cover corner, but I'd be remiss to say that I'm not concerned about ball skills.

The New England Patriots select Brandon Ghee, CB, Wake Forest.

I think D's little top 5 list was a smoke screen to keep people off his real pick for the Donks.

I know my selection, but of course I want to talk about it too much to just post it.

Ah, **** it. I'll come back in a little under an hour to discuss it.

The Broncos take WR Brandon LaFell, LSU.

Keep the Draft going. I'll filibuster with my bullshit later.

The New York Giants select linebacker Daryl Washington from TCU.

NYG need help across the board at linebacker. Washington has the ability to play inside or out plus contribute a ton on special teams. Adding Graham and Washington in addition to Rolle should pay off for the G-Men.

Good deal. I liked Lafell, but I don't think that he would help the Pats the same way that Williams would have, so I wasn't going WR w/ 44.

Now I feel is the time in which I can get good value for this next selection. I had played with the idea of rush backer here, especially since there are multiple 3-4 teams between this pick and the next. I'm well aware that the second tier rushers may well be gone here, but I don't think they are the caliber of player of this next guy, a player who before the Alamo Bowl last year was a 1st round pick and a far more disruptive college player than Tyson Jackson.

I think this guy has the upside to be a very good 5 technique in the league, and his limitations mesh well with what the Patriots don't expect from their linemen. Also, if BB decides to go to a 4-3 full time, he has experience playing both left end (very stout against the run) and under tackle. He racked up 10 sacks before hurting his knee his junior year, and was used sparingly as a senior, as he recovered from tearing his ACL. I think that he will be valued more highly by NFL teams than CPers, but I'm not willing to risk him lasting another 7 or so picks.

The New England Patriots select Corey Wootton, DE, Northwestern

Carolina is on the clock.

Solid pick for the Patriots, Hamas. They needed another 5-Tech. He should fit perfect.

Lots of great players in the draft. I'm pumped we have two 2nd rounders and Carl isn't making the selections. 2nd rounders should be staples on the team-Carl botched it for two decades.

Right on, BCF. Looking at the Top 3 left on my cheat sheet, OTW is going to be able to add another stud to the Chiefs @ 50.

Panthers might as well take Tebow here. Moore is going to suck, and they reallly need a QB. Tebow can sit for a year or 2.

Love both Sfeihc and Hammas' latest picks. I was really torn between Bowman and Washington for Tampa and was hoping to see Wooten fall a little bit, love him in a 3-4.

This was one of the options I was going to take with the Panthers pick. I think he offers a lot of versatility and could play either position in a 4-3 as well. Nice pick. And thanks for making my decision easier.
