The Pioli Watch Thread

I'm hijacking the thread starter to use for an "updates" area. Sorry cardken. Here are a few recent updates:

Pioli would find a warm welcome in Kansas City. At the last Chiefs' home game, shortly after the embattled Carl Peterson resigned after 20 years as president, general manager and CEO, several signs were spotted in the crowd proclaiming, "We want Pioli." Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

The Chiefs are also in an enviable salary-cap situation, with at least $30 million of room to maneuver, and I don't think it hurts one bit that Pioli's wife was born and still has family in the Wichita, Kan., area. From a lifestyle perspective, Kansas City might be a better fit for Pioli than even Cleveland.

So you think Sanchez is better than the other 2? Why? I ask sincerely not wanting to be argumentative because I don't follow college that closely but I have heard more about the other 2 than Sanchez. I did see him a few weeks ago and seems to be of "frail build" skinny like Croyle.

A lot of these guys, even the kids, value peace and quiet more than you might think.

OK that's a little overdone, but it illustrates the point. I was just mentioning my personal preference as a Chiefs fan with the Parcells thing. I did not post an uninformed "FACT." So yes, your post was just as moot and unnecessary as prescription glasses for a blind man.

No one really talked about Sanchez because it was widely considered he would return to school.

But of the three, he has the most composure and a pocket presense the other two can't match at this point.

He's highly accurate, has a fairly strong arm, and maintains his accuracy even while on the run.

But the most impressive thing is how he stands in the pocket and delivers strikes in the face of pressure.

Sanchez is roughly 6'3 220-230 if Croyle ever in his life weighed over 200lbs I'd be stunned.

Oh, and of the three, Bradford would be the one that would be considered frail.

Sanchez wieghs in at about 225, stands around 6'3".

I suppose depends on the format and the size you save it in. You need to click on "Manage Attachment" for that last part. But for the first part I did Ctrl+ Print Screen and nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?

That pretty much sums it up.

Add to that his football IQ. I think it was Sarkisian that said during the Rose Bowl broadcast that Mark is the smartest guy they've had, and spends more time studying film than any USC QB in recent memory, including Carson Palmer.

Well first off, he barely has an injury list, and I don't know if you could count one dislocated kneecap which was put immediately back in to place a "list".

He's tougher, bulkier, and more importantly, smarter than Croyle ever was.

His mechanics are beyond reproach, and his ability to make hay under pressure and on the run is just outstanding at the college level. He can scrap a play, find a new target, hit that target with a precision that makes you think he was going there all along, and do it at what looks like superhuman speed.
And if he HAS to run, he does it very, very well.

But most of all, his overall talent makes him ready to start from day one; his learning curve is going to be a short and very fast one.

Granted the only time I watched either Stafford or Sanchez were in their Bowl games, I was much more impressed with Sanchez. Of course, can't judge from one game. From what I've been reading since the Bowl games, I like Sanchez. Definitely either one of those two before Bradford.
