Who Would Win in a Fight Between Bruce Lee and Mike Tyson?

Alright Planeteers, I've been arguing on message boards with people about this off and on for a couple years now and I want to get CP's input on it. The question is this: Who would win in a fight between Bruce Lee and Mike Tyson in his prime? Let's hear it!

Lee wouldn't have been able to get close enough to kick Tyson's leg.

141 to be exact iirc. It would not have mattered. Bruce Lee was so incredibly fast. I'm not saying Tyson wasn't fast, especially for his size, but Lee's movements were nearly impossible to see with the human eye. It was more of a blur at best. The guy was insane. I really don't think Tyson could have came close to landing a punch on him and Tyson is the best boxer that I've ever seen.

I was a HUGE fan of the young version of Mike Tyson. However, in a no rules fight, Lee would destroy Tyson. Bruce was a freak of nature, he could hit with more brute force than prize fighters of that day. As far as the size differential, you take a tree down from the base. A swift kick to the leg of knee would immobilize Tyson.

can't believe people actually believe Lee would win in an all out brawl with a prime Mike Tyson.. lmfao. At most Lee would win 3 out of 10.

This isn't a movie where a much smaller guy can just knock out a bigger dude with a punch. No amount of mental fortitude that Lee had would be able to withstand multiple body blows from mike tyson who has incredible hand speed for his class. Lee was a beast, but also a lot of hype around his name.

Tyson weighed around 240 and Lee around 160 max *closer to 145 prob*

Want Tyson like 5'9"? Taller than Lee but I don't know if the range of his wingspan is greater than that of Lee's side kick.

Most of this legendary superhuman martial artist striker bullshit where the stories were retold in awed hushed whispers were largely debunked about 20 years ago when Ultimate Fighting started up and they were basically asked to prove it. They could not, and small submission grapplers ruled the land for a while.

I would be very interested in Royce Gracie vs Tyson in their peaks, that could be interesting, but Lee would get his ass knocked out.

Yep. There's a reason UFC fights tend to be stand up and submission. Mike Tyson in 4 ounce gloves against a 140 pound opponent? One punch would change Lee's entire life.

I wonder if Lee was taught in his jeet kun do or whatever how to defend his face from being mutilated by another mans teeth? If Tyson bit Holyfields ear off out of frustration in an professional bout, it is down right terrifying thinking about what he might do if he was ever hurt on his back.

Another thing is nobody has any idea how Lee would even react to getting hit lol... I mean obviously the most likely scenario is him going to sleep, or worse. But does he even have the mental toughness to keep fighting? Does he have the ability to take brain rattling shots, and keep his composure.

Another thing is how do we even know that tyson doesn't/didn't know how to check a kick? It isn't rocket science, and he's been in love with combat sports since he was a pre teen.... Shit you could teach him enough to get by in literally 5 seconds.

And even if By miracle Lee could get Tyson on the ground then what? Leverage can only do so much... If it was Lee was against a regular 230lb man then sure.. But there isn't a chance in hell he has the grip strength required to do anything to Tyson, assuming Tyson doesn't Bite his face off, or scoop his eye balls out first. Were talking about a guy who is damn near strong enough to break a HW boxers arm without any leverage. He could grab Lees wrists and **** him in his ass in front of everybody like he told that one feller he was going to do. Shit I'd be willing to bet Tyson could knock out most human beings from his back if he wanted to.

Judo Gene Lebell would be a good source to comment on this if he were alive...

First, you guys are assuming Mike Tyson would actually get a hit in on Bruce Lee. That would never happen. Lets not forget, with the whole boxing thing, that Bruce Lee was actually a boxing champion, who studied boxing, in addition to fencing, and many martial arts. Mike Tyson is big, strong, and had a fast punch for a boxer. Bruce Lee was on another level with speed, combination kicks, and the like that we may never see again. Bruce Lee's accuracy with his contact was ridiculous. He could take a black belt out in about 3 seconds, and you think Mike ****ing Tyson would last longer? And somehow people think that a guy that practiced with a metal filled punching bag would not be able to knock Mike the **** out... Hahahaha. You're talking about the single greatest martial artist to ever live, against a boxer. Incredible. I'd put money on Chuck Norris over Mike Tyson, and Bruce Lee was twice as good.
