Off Season Lets Talk Guns, Part 2

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

They did raise their prices on stripped lowers 10-20 depending on when you look, but they are still very reasonable. (I know they aren't the best, but damn good for the money)
CTD are huge pieces of Shit. Their Pmags were $100+ after that school shooting. They can go F themselves.

I didn't notice that PSA did it, did they?

Great round. Has quite a bit less drop than my .308's, even thought the .308 was my first love when it comes to long range shooting.

While I'm a lover of the .308 and nothing will ever change that, these charts show where that 6.5 is awesome...

I'm looking for a cheap pair of binoculars for crop scouting.

They need to be cheap and durable because I'm probably not going to take great care of them. They need to be compact and decent optics.

I know virtually nothing about optics. I bought dad some when I was at Cabela's 100 years ago and they ended up being damn useful. Any advice would be appreciated.

I purchased a pair of Bushnell binos from your favorite store (except in Lamar) on the way to the mountains 6 years ago.

They are compact, and have pretty good glass for what I paid (I think they were 50?).

SWFA just released a pair for $400 I am thinking about trying. They make bomb proof gear with decent glass. Probably a little too much for pickup beaters, though.

What does everyone have for Gun safes?

Mine is a small 24 gun Liberty Centurion safe. It's pretty much full and I'm looking to upgrade. Found a buyer for my safe for $350. Probably could've gotten $500 for it but it was a friend.

Academy has a couple nice ones for $900 and $1k. 48 and a 64 gun size. I believe one of them is Cannon.

Atwoods has a fat boy Jr 48 gun safe for $1300.

The only time in my life I have been lucky enough to find that once in a lifetime deal was with this safe about 3 weeks ago

Dad and I walked into Home Depot and 2 guys were rolling this safe up front to the doors and started setting it up as a on sale item..I seen a clearance sign and asked how much it was..the manager said it's normally around $750 but it's the last one we have and it has a few dents on it and we just want rid of it..he said $300..I asked if he could do a military discount on top of it..he said sure I can..$250 and it's yours..dad had his wallet out faster than I did

I looked it over and the dents are on the back of it and there are 3 of them..about the size of a penny or dime..I don't care it's the back and it's going to be up against the wall

Id like a safe. Just no room for one. So I'm stuck with trigger key locks on my semiautomatics and I remove the bolts on the others and lock them up in Pops old Cornwell tool chest.

I figured with your collection, you'd have some type of sweet early 1900's bank vault.

The only place for safe is where I have a milling machine.
Lifes not worth living without an old milling machine

I got a cheap stackon cabinet that's welded to hss framework under the floor. I carpeted myself added led lights, and built custom shelves myself that I am going to be changing soon to better hold shotguns and rifles. I'm going to add a key pad for access soon instead of the key lock.
