Wanya is probably better suited inside as a guard

Honestly, all Morris has to do is work on his technique and he'd actually be a decent LT. Seems like coaching could do a better job with him and give him some advice so that he's not getting his hands knocked away. He's pretty damn good if he is able to get his hands onto the defender.

I'm just going off what I can remember from the game and I specifically watched Morris all game, so I may have to go back and revise some of this.

He had a disaster of a 4th quarter, but he only had 2 bad reps in the 1st half (one that resulted in a sack) and then he was good through all of the 3rd quarter. His 4th quarter really went bad when they decided they weren't going to run the ball and the defense knew it. Wanya did completely shut down Max Crosby on the few plays that he tried to challenge him and then Max went to Jawaan Taylor and whipped his ass.

Jawaan Taylor played worse than Morris did.

Kingsley appears to lack a lot of technique, but I don't think it's because he's incapable.

Andrew Thomas looked eerily similar as a rookie. He didn't get benched, but that's only because the Giants were a complete dumpster fire and it didn't really matter if it was him or somebody else who sucked.

Kingsley is in a very odd spot, where he's raw and yet was pushed out there too early and then benched because the team expectations are so high. Typically teams who do that with LTs aren't going for SB 3-peats. So the "unplayable, healthy scratch" mark you're putting on him is kind of unfair, because it just never happens.

But don't tell me you've never seen young LTs that whiff like he did. Do you watch the NFL?

For much of the game he does pretty well, the whole OL does. But man when he whiffs on a guy he's left swatting at air. Even a guy like Donavan would hang in there, rarely ever totally whiffs. Wanya's bad moments are as bad as bad can get and it kills drives.

One thing that doesn't work in his favour is that he doesn't really have anything close to an elite DE to go against on the Chiefs defense in practice. Regardless, he ****ing sucks.

He was getting raped all game. I don't know how fools can even attempt to find the positives where there aren't any, unless the definition of "good" has changed since I last looked.

Fisher was playing hurt that game, too. But shit did we ever see why we still needed him out there when we played the Bucs.

This gets thrown out in conversation a lot and it’s simply not true. Sewell wasn’t a pro bowler as a rookie, but he was solid. Gave up 5 sacks. If Kingsley was allowed to start the whole year, he would have likely given up 3x that. Maybe more.

It’s wild how terrible Kingsley and Wanyas hand usage is. On some snaps, it’s like they have never played football before.

If Humphries is even average, he’s going to appear as superhuman after what we’ve been used to.

Our left tackles seem completely unable to handle a speed rush. You can blame our defensive personnel, but at a certain point you gotta start asking questions about our OL scouting/development at the tackle positions.
