"He won the MVP in 2018 and hasn't come close to that year since. The league adjusted and he never will have another year like that. His numbers have regressed every year since. That's what should carry the most weight" Similar criticism could be made about Mahomes. |

How is the Watson contract even relevant? Because the Cleveland Owner is an idiot that means all other owners should make awful deals?

And as another poster said, we went to two superbowls, and also three straight AFC championship games.... Lamar isn't even a good quarterback anymore, hes a gimmick QB that harbaugh has completely shifted his system for. He's so bad, and harbaugh knows it. Reminds me of his brother and the kaepernick situation except Harbaugh ran before Kaepernick could fall apart like Lamar. |

He had a really good 2020 and had the Ravens in contention for the #1 seed in 2021 despite basically the entire roster being on IR. Quote:
Jackson's 2020 was actually really good. And I don't like comparing team accomplishments. You can argue against his lack of postseason success, but in the regular season he's got one of the highest winning percentages of all-time. His style of play is highly conducive to winning regular season football games and he is a great football player. His deficiencies throwing the ball are certainly a limiting factor on the team's postseason potential, but they could do a lot worse. Quote:
Mahomes is better than Jackson, for sure. That SB was great, but we all know it takes a LOT of luck in order to get that. Quote:
Pat has played a huge role in our recent success, but perhaps if Lamar had Reid coaching him with Kelce and Hill to throw to he may have enjoyed more success. Quote:
I've seen people (idiots) make that statement many times. Objectively speaking, it is actually true. |

I can understand him asking for more than Deshaun. Deshaun is guilty of sexual assault and hasn’t played in what, 18 months? And Lamar has won an MVP
I’m not saying he is worth more, but I can see why in his head he feels he deserves more I can also understand Baltimore not wanting to give it to him

I can't get to the place where I think Lamar is anywhere as good of a QB as Mahomes is. He's not even close to having the vision, touch, or ability to read defenses. Andy may well have been able to coax more out of him, but there is just no way he'll ever be what Mahomes is. He's phenomenal athlete that's a pretty decent QB, and that's ok. He's just not that upper echelon of QB.

I overheard someone on the radio arguing Lamar Jackson vs Michael Vick. Which I thought was a crazy argument. Michael Vick had a ****ing cannon. He was also just as electric if not more electric than Jackson as a runner. If Andy Reid had Vick from the start of his career and the dog thing never happened, he could've really turned him into a monster. We saw glimpses of it.
