Call Your Shot: Who will be the Chiefs first pick in the 2025 NFL draft?

I'm going with Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio St.

I think the Chiefs would prefer a guy like Walter Nolen or Derrick Harmon falls into their lap, but I don't think that happens next Thursday night, or at least I'm not going to get me hopes up.

A lot of people will not like this pick, due to the injury risk, but the Chiefs take a swing at a T that otherwise would never be in that late 1st round range.

Side note: I could also see Josh Conerly being the pick and could've just as easily chose him. Upside isn't as high, but he's probably safer given his health.

That’s a god awful comp…

Jeanty is gonna be a superstar and one of the best backs in the league immediately…

I’d move heaven and earth to get him, it’s just not feasible.

I love Hampton too…trust me if he got past the Steelers, I would have no problem with them maneuvering to get him. Guy is gonna be a beast.

Sticking to my guy Josh Conerly. No deviation from that for me this year.

The more I listen to I bet they take a major swing for a running back. Pacheco coming off a pretty serious injury and also in a contract year. Combine that with the fact their running back room was the least explosive in the NFL. Is Veach going to pay Pacheco? In 2025 the running back is so much more important than it was just 4-5 years ago. All the top tier teams have elite backs except the Chiefs (Eagles, Lions, Ravens, Bills).

Hell Andy Reid didnt even try to pretend we could run the ball against the Eagles in the SB. Just completely abandoned the run from the word go. Time to take pressure off Mahomes and become a more balanced team.

Ill lock in my pick for Omarion Hampton.

For the record, I think it will be Kenneth Grant, after a trade down.

I think it will be Nolen.

I wish it were Harmon.

It might be Ezeirauku.

I hope it’s not Simmons.

It will be Simmons.

Just to be different... Landon Jackson, Edge from Ark

However, if Josh Simmons checks out on all his medicals; sure would be nice to have him in the fold for Mahomes's future

Hope: Trade down a few spots for a 4th?, draft Grant or Tyliek williams...hopefully someone has a Dartboner and trades with us.

Fear: Trade up in front of the Texans for an LT with T-Rex arms that would have still been there at 31.

I don't know which LT you're talking about but all the combine measurements were wrong.

Conerly and Simmons both have 34" arm length.

It'll be a money position if a few prospects have similar ratings...KC somewhat addressed LT/RB.

While I think a top flight RB would provide the biggest impact and take some heat off the OL...Chiefs defense took a hit when Watson went down. There is the contract coming up with Karlaftis ...he's a good player but I'm not sure if he's worth what he's going to get.

DE/CB/WR/LT are the $$$ spots to fill...landing a starter will have a financial trickle down effect in which funds can be allocated to another position group.
