2025 OL Prospect Thread

Alright guys, let’s have ourselves a 2025 OL Thread.

Current OL Questions:

1) We’ve invested in OL, what are your thoughts on their development path and potential roles next season? ...Kingsley, Morris, Humpries, Caliendo, & Nourzard.

2) Thuney’s holding it down at LT fairly well and getting paid big money, are you open to him playing there or moving him back to LG? For the playoffs & SB or next season?

3) Are you planning on picking up Jawan Taylor’s contract option in 2026 @ $27m cap hit?

2025 OL Draft Prospects:

Depending on where you look we’ll get a chance to draft one of the following O-Lineman @ #32: Jones, Milum, Williams, Ersery, Simmons, Savaiinaea, Conley Jr or Booker. Some OL prospects that CP members have suggested for rounds 2-4 include Ratledge, Membou, Mbow, Jackson, Nelson, Brown, Colby, Belton, Fairchild & Zuhn, C Grant. Not much consistency in rankings or rounds for these prospects yet.

1) Would you take an O-Lineman in the first round or wait until later in the draft?

2) Who do you have your eye one? Why are they a good fit? Are they starters or projects?

3) Please add your own questions, comments, player draft profiles, links, videos etc for your favorite OL targets below!

I mean lets go back about 10 years -- what plus FA OTS have even hit the market?

Williams technically did but he clearly didn't want to leave SF.
Terron Armstead. Orlando Brown.

And then what? I mean the 4th best FA offensive tackle to have come available over the last decade may well be Kelvin ****ing Beachum. Maybe Charles Leno? Duane Brown?

Quality LTs just don't hit the market. And if/when they do, they cost a LOT.

They're not terribly dissimilar to QBs in that regard. If you can even find relatively young mediocrity on the FA market, you pay what it costs if it's a position of need for you.

Or you keep plugging along and praying to get a little lucky.

Yeah it’s Cam Robinson and DJ Humphries. Those are our FA options really.

I was out in Robinson until I looked at the stats and analytics/film review guys on X attributing the majority of the sacks Darnold took on himself. You just can’t hold the ball for an average of 3.1 seconds a snap. I think the entire Vikings line got screwed by that.

Cam Robinson at a fair price point wouldn’t be bad at all. He’s probably in the Thuney range of “productive and won’t ruin games for you” territory.

As much as I’d want to draft a LT I just don’t see it. The Conerly kid is going top 20 and Simmons will likely too despite his injury (he said he’ll be ready by training camp).

I don’t want the Chiefs to do a Mahomes like trade up for one of these guys.

There's nothing exciting about Robinson.

And frankly, we'll hate every minute of watching him be...fine...for $20 million/season.

Unfortunately it may well be the best option available to us apart from doing what we did again this year. I'd rather get Humphry back on the Donovan Smith "low base+incentives" deal and I think that's PROBABLY the direction we go.

But yeah, they're gonna call Robinson and see what he commands. And it's gonna be a lot. And we might just be the team that gives it to him.

If we're talking LT's yeah it's tougher, RT's though....Schwartz for sure.

I think the Chiefs are gonna let Robinson sit. They’ll wait on him and see if he’s available. If not I bet they pivot to DJ Humphries getting a full season to recover and be ready.

Just don’t see us paying Robinson that much

I do. It's the second most important position in the sport. Go get a dude and forget about it for 10 years. Aside from LT and QB, the only other position I'd spend a lot of capital on is a Pass Rusher. You need dudes at those spots to win in the NFL consistently. We've been lucky to hodge-podge it a bit at LT but a lot of that has to do with being great across the rest of the OL and even then we at least had near-average there and not complete and utter dogshit.

I'm convinced, wholeheartedly, that we won't get the old Mahomes back until he completely and unquestionably trusts his LT. Why should we care if we blow two late 1s and a 3 to get a stud LT? Especially in this draft where we have that other high 3... Go get em. Conerly or Simmons would be just fine with me.

Cam ****ing Robinson is not the answer. He may have not been to blame for all of Darnold's shortcomings but he sure as shit wasn't very good in Jacksonville either. I'll pass on that circus.

If Ronnie Stanley does hit the market, which I doubt, I'd consider chancing that guy to stay healthy for a bit. I'd probably take a shot at Alaric Jackson over Robinson if he does but man that scares me a bit too. At the end of the day though, I just don't love any of those options. We need our guy, it's time.

They aren't trading into the top 12 like they did with Mahomes. If they're going to trade up, it will be like 8-10 spots. All to get a LT prospect that may or may not work. Recent history suggests Kingsley has just as much to develop as one of those guys in the 20's.

The last thing this team needs is to throw away picks that could be used to plug other holes.

They've gotta get the spot figured out either way. They can cover up and fill other holes easier, this one is gonna take some capital either way.

They're gonna have to hope a guy like Kingsley turns out. They don't really have a ton of options that won't set the team back in other areas

They've shown they can figure out the other areas though.

This one....they can't. So either trade up, spend etc.

They're gonna do one or the other. Kingsley is a G at this point.

Kingsley is not a guard. And he's a rookie. Saying they've "shown they can't" is disingenuous.

Well....they haven't been able to.

Other than having the first overall pick, they can't figure out the LT spot.

I’m also good with a big trade up for a LT.

We have a multi-Super Bowl winning roster with some of the worst LT play in the league.

Plug the hole.

I wouldn't trade up for a guy, outside of QB i'm not trading up for anything.

Maybe a few spots sure, but a big one? Nah.
