OLED TV Prices Continue to Fall

65 inch Samsung OLED at Best Buy for $1000:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung...?skuId=6536964

65 inches is on the small side (that's what she said), but that's a good deal. I'm sure larger models will follow suit before long.

It’s not the problem that it used to be. You would genuinely have to really try to get that and even then you probably won’t do it.

Most of the examples of burn-in I've seen are from logos and crawls on 24/7 news channels. If you get a 2023 OLED or newer and use a little common sense, it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks guys. If this old LG ever craps out, I think I will get an OLED set to replace it.

QLED in her better lit room, OLED for yours.

Thank you! I think it's safe to say all 5 of our sets are not OLED as price was the issue with purchasing all of them from Walmart. When I get ready to replace my 55 " Philips I will be looking into OLED. The information is much appreciated.

About 10 days in, and I can say my OLED is the best TV I've owned, by a wide margin. I had read negatives about OLEDs not being bright enough, but I've had to reduce the brightness because it was a little too bright, even in a sunny room.

With prices coming down like they are, I see no reason to buy a "high end" LED unit. Either get an OLED, or go cheap and get an LED from Walmart.

Honestly, I find a lot of the discussions about brightness to be way off base. People often make a decision on a set based on looking at one on a showroom floor. The vast majority of TV retailers take them out of the box and instantly turn the brightness up all the way. It's not really good for the TV and it actually hurts picture quality in a lot of cases. A properly configured TV will be better over the long haul.

Settled on the TCL 75Q650G.

QLED
Adjustable feet
Dolby Vision

Might even go on sale soon, who knows. Gonna want it for postseason.

EDIT - OH, apparently this one is newer and might be better? I think this is the one I watched the review on actually.

Man TVs are such a scam lol. I paid 2 grand for my 85" two years ago, and that was about the cheapest I could find from a reputable brand. The link Clay posted the 85" is $750.

I’m not sure which tv you bought but they may not be equal. I have a 10 year old plasma that looks better than most new LED TVs on the market.
