50 Beers to Try Before You Die
Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).
http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984 (CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"? How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

This brewery is just 6 months old and the staff in every beer shop and brewery I've been to in NYC told me to go there.

They release 4 packs of 16oz cans (or at least they did 3 years ago, the last time it was released)... those go relatively quickly and it's usually on tap around town for ~2-3 months.
In years past, it's strong on the peanuts and chocolate and pretty close to a candy bar, really.... the only other beer that comes to mind is also west coast, Bottle Logic Study Break (but Study Break isn't BBA). They also make a Shot in the Arm coffee stout that's pretty solid, but rating their beers is like rating NFL teams... BBA King Sized is the Chiefs and anything you place 2nd isn't particularly close.

Had a 6 pack of both Bell's Hopslam and Odell's Friek in the fridge this week. Kind of blows my mind how easy both are to get these days, plenty left of both on the shelf around town. 10ish years ago both were gone nearly as quickly as they hit the shelves.

Taking a little mini break from beer.
But, got myself a bottle of Brewing Projekt's S'Morror for Thanksgiving weekend. Can't wait! Anything smores, graham cracker, or marshmallow - and I'm hooked. I am kinda bummed Dragon's Milk Variant for winter is Oatmeal Cookie, AGAIN. Solid, but I was hoping for something different. |

Had the chance to meet TimBone face to face today; good to meet you, dude!
He brought his wife and son into the brewery that I terrorize on Sundays and I immediately recognized him. We shared some beers and shot the shit. Gave him some BBQ recommendations for the remainder of his visit, totally stoked to have met him. Open invitation to anyone around Lee's Summit on Sundays, come up and drink my beers. |

In Monk's Cafe Philly. Top notch craft beer bar with Pliny the Elder on tap. Currently sipping on a Pliny for President which is decent after having the ****ing amazing Hill Farmstead Double Nelson.

That's cool, wouldn't have guessed Hill Farmstead distributed outside of Vermont.

Their beer is all over New York. Had it on draft in 3 different bars/shops I visited. This DIPA was by far the best one I had.

High Roller Lobster Club and their lobster roll flights are amazing. Gilbert's Chowder House and Scales are really good, and Gilbert's has chowder flights. Bramhall is a great speakeasy. I was only there for a long weekend and would love to spend a few months there one day. If you can make the 2 hour drive down to Boston, Treehouse and Trillium are totally worth the trip alone.
