It’s a pretty blaring indictment on Sean Payton that he couldn’t make it back to the SB after his first one. Even more of an indictment that he couldn’t do it with a HOF QB.

There was no Tom Brady or Peyton Manning in your way over in the NFC for 95% of his time there. It’s nuts that a coach who is supposedly this good with a top 5 QB made it to the conference championship only once in the last 12 seasons.

He wasted Drew Brees career

Let's take a look at the last quarter century. Since 1998, they've missed the playoffs 15 times (63% of the time), with a 7-8 postseason record. In their playoff losses, they've been outscored 295-120. They've reached double digit wins 8 times (33% of seasons) and have finished with 8 wins or less 54% of the time.

Is there anything that suggests that this franchise has been elite since Elway retired?
