I don't know if there is a sport were ones nerves play such a big role in the outcome.

So say they walk 6-7 miles a day. And not on a straight, flat terrain. That is a lot of walking 4 straight days at 50 years old. Especially with the pressure of a major championship and the nerves it involves. This isn’t an easy, beer drinking 72 holes at Bushwood Country Club. |

Walk 18 holes 3 straight days then go shoot a score on the fourth. Play it down and put everything out.
I’d guess not many could break 90 at their own home course |

Just looked at the leaderboard. Lot of low scores on the front 9 for the guys out early today.

Then add in that you are playing in a major championship. On a course 7,849 yards long. Against the best players in the world. Then try do it after age 50. I can assure you that anyone here would be mentally and physically exhausted! |

There are many people that are out of shape. I walk 25,000 steps including up and down stairwells every day at work. These guys are in physical shape as they do this as a profession. Now the mental part is different. The mental part will change as they get towards the top of the leader board.

Having played competitively, it’s as much or more mental exhaustion as it is physical, and the combo of the two is very real. I hope I’m wrong but I can see this being a tough day for Phil.

The wife wants to go to Charleston and Savannah for a vacation get away. I'm going to oblige but part of this trip will be playing the Ocean Course.
