Call Your Shot: Who will be the Chiefs first pick in the 2025 NFL draft?

I'm going with Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio St.

I think the Chiefs would prefer a guy like Walter Nolen or Derrick Harmon falls into their lap, but I don't think that happens next Thursday night, or at least I'm not going to get me hopes up.

A lot of people will not like this pick, due to the injury risk, but the Chiefs take a swing at a T that otherwise would never be in that late 1st round range.

Side note: I could also see Josh Conerly being the pick and could've just as easily chose him. Upside isn't as high, but he's probably safer given his health.

I think a dynamic back would do a ton next year, no question.

The issue is that RB has better talent depth, IMO. I think you can get a RB in the 3rd or 4th that can provide a hell of a boost in his own right and by 2026 you have a full offense of young, talented skill position players.

Remember when the Broncos had to create a Fisher Price level child offense just so Bo Nicks could understand it.

Maybe the Raiders but I think all the teams that made the playoffs last year have the advantage in this draft in that they don't desperately need a QB or other specific position, and they can take the BAP. I really think alot of the players projected to be taken in rounds 2-4 have potential to outshine some of the picks going earlier.

Both the Chiefs and Chargers will assuredly draft a good player, not a bust. It's those teams picking 1-15 that are flirting with disaster.

Thats not a reason to draft ANOTHER wr early lol.....it's a huge flaming sign for us to draft an RB this year. I'm sure there will be a run on RBs where if we wait too long we'll end up with a JAG

Agree that an RB later in the draft would upgrade the offense, but our offense is not indeed in a WR1 or WR2. Could we also get a WR3 in Round 3? Perhaps. Could we get a quality starter at DT in R3? Not as likely.

In a perfect world, Worthy is a WR3 IMO.

We don't have a true X. And when Kelce goes and Rice effectively takes over Kelces role in the passing game, we WILL need a WR2 to backfill.

The mistake people make is thinking of Kelce as a TE when we've essentially used him as a WR who occasionally plays in-line for years.

We need versatile receiver far more than people think, IMO.

But seriously, this pick was obvious. Veach has overcorrected on major issues from OL (the first time) to WR to now LT.
