Let's Talk About the Eagles (Super Bowl 59 Discussion)

We're headed back to the Ship and will try to be the first team to 3-peat in Super Bowl history!!! Chiefs open up as 1.5 favorites over the Eagles.

Discuss.

Duh. Forgot about Danna's strip.

I'll take Hurts/Barkley over Allen/Cooks in a second...Hurts isnt making those 4th down TD throws. His arm strength isnt even close..

KC beat the Ravens twice in 3 games and have shut down Henry in the post-season. Fangio has never beaten Mahomes...and KC has faced his defense a lot.

Chiefs have the horses to keep Philly in check...and a far superior coaching staff/QB.

How many times have the Chiefs faced the most stacked roster in the SB...with an inferior QB? Their only loss in the past 22 games was to Allen...who is the 2nd best QB in the league.

As I was watching the All 22 yesterday I noticed that Danna quietly had the game of his career. He was very good.

Yeah, that contract doesn’t look like a bad move at all right now.

I’m all for Wharton coming back on a reasonable deal too.

Those guys, Karlaftis (assuming we don’t get blown away by a trade offer), Jones, and FAU improving is a nice start to the DL.

Maybe make a splash with Chase Young and a couple draft picks.

Spags should be excited for this group going forward.

Leo Chenal has also had two really good Super Bowls already.

With a third, that draft pick keeps looking better and better.

I'd be shocked if Wharton came back, he's had a really good year and a DT that can get pass rush penetration will always have value. It's the big run stuffers that get paid peanuts.

It's not a great position we have some valuable role players you'd like to keep but there are enough bad teams that can offer more money..also won't be at all surprised if Borgonzi tries to swipe some of our FAs.

Yeah I don’t get it either. But in Spags we trust. What I do know is that anyone including Williams as a viable piece on defense vs the Eagles is in denial or not paying attention.

When I think about the Eagles and all they have going for them it is pretty intimidating. When I actually watch them play football I rarely come away super impressed other than the individual performance of SB.

In the 3 previous SB’s that we won, Chiefs go down ten points while trying to hold on for dear life. Then after long SB halftime we regroup and then once other teams superior pass rushers are gasping for air Mahomes puts the knife in them.

It's also true that the Eagles have no WRs of any kind besides Brown/Smith. I'm hoping Goedert gets a lot of attention from Spags because he's capable of getting lost in the secondary with so much focus on stopping the run and containing their WRs.
i recall on one play that Tranquill got blocked by a WR when he was trying to run to cover. Missed call on a blatant offensive PI. Not sure if same play to which you are referring.
