Let's just look at Alex vs Andrew, 1st 2 years in the NFL ? Did Alex have the success Andrew did his 1st 2 years ? Did carry his team his 1st 2 years ? Nope, had to have talent around him and the proper system to run. BTW, what excellent talent did Andrew have yesterday? Yet through his mistakes, he kept them motivated and carried them to victory.

And stop comparing Alex Smiths rookie seasons, to Anyone elses. Completely different scenarios. First and foremost, the Colts still had Reggie wayne. Added T.Y. Hilton, drafted two tight ends, and had a OC who helped Peyton Manning his first year, Ben Roethlisberger, his first year. Completely different time, and era. Oh, also, Andrew Luck played under Jim Harbaugh in college, and was considered to be the best prospect to come out since Peyton Manning. Alex Smith was considered to be the best of a very bad draft class. He was not wanted. Matt Leinart decided to stay in college, and the 49ers got left with Alex Smith.

LOL, now the sky is the limit for Alex Smith. It's like we've seen so much bad QB play, that when we get a sniff of good QB play, we go all in.
Alex is what he is; a good game manager. He played the half of his life yesterday, then fell apart in the second. |

indeed.
I don't think he is without flaws, but I bet 99% of the board thought he would be horrid without Jamaal Charles in the game. He proved that he can move the ball well enough without his star RB. He has proven that he can do a decent job without healthy TEs. He has proven that he can do a decent job without legit #1 wideout. Now imagine if KC hits the jackpot on a WR in the offseason.... hmmmm.... ![]()

No starting RB, no backup RB a no problem. Injuries and play calling were the problem yesterday not the QB. |

Andrew Luck and Alex Smith had almost identical games. Both took advantage of the other teams defenses mistakes. It was a one point game. The difference, was essentially a fumble that luckily bounced back to Andrew Luck. Not to mention that a team with minimal weapons, lost its ELITE WEAPON 6 plays in, but Alex Smith is a game manager, and Andrew Luck is god. Not that I don't think that Andrew Luck isn't better than Alex Smith. Andrew Luck is on a different planet than just about any other qb. Its just funny how some will go to such links to dismiss how great Alex Smith played yesterday. The difference in the game was that the Indy defense was a different animal in the second half, the Chiefs defense played worse and worse, and injuries ate up the Chiefs in the end. Nothing you can ever say will take away from how well Alex Smith played yesterday. That was a FRANCHISE QB PERFORMANCE.

Look, we just have a very different opinion on Alex. He played great yesterday, as well as you will possible ever see him play. The only way he will ever be better is with better talent. Alex did not throw any picks, Andrew had 3 and still willed his way from a bad performance to lead when needed. Would Alex be able to throw 3 picks and will his team to a win ? Very seldom at best, not consistently as your top QB's in the NFL do. Now this, our defense lost this game, clear and simple. Nothing Alex did cost us the game. Yet when the game was on the line, Alex did fail on the last series, as much as the play calling was questionable, he made a costly error on the throw out of bounds and not take the sack, costing us a down in a 4 down territory. You can blame anybody you want, blocking assignments, Alex has to know what to do there in crunch time. Andy has to make sure he allows Alex the right situation to succeed, why ? Because he is a very good system QB, needing top level talent around him to succeed at the highest level of competition.

He was!
Joe always had great talent around him in SF. In KC, not so much, he wasn't great, he was past his prime and we needed to build good talent around him. We needed a RB to lean on, we got Marcus Allen. Look, believe what you will, yur convinced Alex is the Greatest, enjoy!

Alex Smith could have won the game but he sure didn't lose it. You also act as if the offense hadn't sustained a parade of key injuries. Alex Smith DID NOT LOSE this game. The Defense lost the game! |

Alex Smith played very good yesterday. But let's be honest, that was one of his best games of his career in terms of stat line. People are acting like this performance warrants him a long term deal, as if this was the kind of play we've been seeing all along from Smith, which it hasn't been. Smith has been very mediocre for a majority of the season. A lot of it has to also do w/ the offense, but AS is a very much dink n dunk QB.
The guy needs to pass down field more. I know he's big on not turning the ball over, but at some point you have to put points on the board from the passing game. If he gets resigned, then we better get more WR/TE/Oline help. The production from the TE position this season was atrocious, as was our WR core. Bowe was inconsistent throughout the season and Avery just pisses everyone off. If his knee would hold up, this team needs to think about bringing in Jeremy Maclin AND look at Marquis Lee in the draft. WR-Dwayne Bowe WR-Marqis Lee WR-Jeremy Maclin WR-Dexter McCluster WR-AJ Jenkins WR-Junior Hemingway Tight End? Sign Fred Davis. Guy has talent and has hit the injury big PLUS...the guy loves to smoke pot....hey we got guys that love to get high too. Bowe, Houston, Hali, Davis should have no problem fitting in here in KC. No more of this McGrath crap. Kelce hopefully doesn't follow in Moeaki's footsteps, but should be every more reason to sign Fred Davis. This offense got shit from the TE position this season. TE-Fred Davis TE-Anthony Fasano TE-Travis Moeaki Kelce
