Nobody ****ing cares. You hire Payton, it doesn’t matter. You won’t come close to KC. We’re actually getting ready for our 5 straight AFCCG, you’re getting ready to hire your 5th coach in 7 years. One of us is a championship caliber team, the other has been in the basement so long they’re not really relevant to the other teams in the division. I honestly hope you hire Payton cuz it’s gonna turn out like all the turds you hired before. Broncos head coach search remains wide open. CEO Greg Penner went into search with open mind. Process has revealed several strong candidates. While Sean Payton is most prominent name, source indicates Penner not yet zeroed in on any one candidate. Trusting the process. #9sports

Point if clarification on the Sean Payton situation. He has not officially finalized his meeting time with the Broncos yet but he plans to fly to Denver Wednesday night in anticipation of meeting with team officials there, presumably that night or Thursday.

Last year, the Broncos were planning on giving Hackett, Quinn and others second interviews at their facility. Hackett was the first one up. It went well. That night, they got word that Jacksonville's plane was in Denver. They thought it was for Hackett but it was actually there for Vic Fangio. They signed a deal with Hackett that night.

On Broncos search...
There has been a feeling in building they got leveraged some last year w/Hackett's interview w/Jacksonville looming and a part of why he was signed and 2nd interviews w/others cancelled...

They started this w/intent of full round of 2nd interviews this time.

Knowmo seems like the kind of guy that could be fooled repeatedly with "get rich quick" schemes that never pan out. He buys into every single plan that will return Denver to prominence and dismisses the failure of those plans as inconsequential every single time. EVERY SINGLE TIME. There is never a moment of introspection to ask "What the hell are we doing?" You wonder why we laugh at you? Well, this is why.

While I would prefer it not be Sean Payton, I'm really not concerned. Part of me wants Sean Payton to just find a job somewhere, anywhere this year just so he won't be available when Chargers go looking for a new coach in 2024. I could see a world where he elevates Broncos to be mediocre/okay. Basically would just require finding what was wrong with Russell Wilson and at least fixing it enough to make him functional.

Wow, I didn't realize we tricked ourselves into hiring Hackett because Jacksonville wanted to interview Fangio. That's even more embarrassing, somehow.
