I got my biggest buck on 9 acres. Went out before dusk and waited for 2 hours.
When it showed up, I was wondering if I was on shrooms because it walked up outta no where and was in range for a model 12 shotgun with #1 buck. One shot, one kill on my parents land. Was a 10 pointer, I will look for the pics. Real nice weight and rack for the southern states. |

The Wichita Eagle newspaper had a pic of a huge buck that a 13yr old boy shot recently in KS early youth hunt. It scored around 230 green score, they are saying it may be the biggest buck ever shot by a kid in KS under age 16yrs of age. He may as well hang it up because that's a once in a lifetime experience right there.

That kid was blessed indeed. Good for him! I hope he remembers that moment for the rest of his life. I would certainly be giving the local taxidermist a call............

The agony of Defeat.....
Puke. Anyone want to buy a bow? I missed tonight. 5:15 I shot about a half inch under a 10pt(maybe 12) with at least 6 tynes that stuck out further than his face. He was close but too many trees in the way, and when I had a window(and I stress window) to shoot through, he must have been at 40 yards, and I misjudged the distance. Easily the biggest buck I've ever had a legitimate shot at...easy 170class. I'd sat 6hrs without seeing anything but 25 turkeys....the only deer I saw, the one I'd want to see and I effing missed. I'm going to be sick about that one for a long, long time. I'll be back in a tree in that timber at 5:45am.... Come Back ShAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaane. My brother reminded me that he had missed a good buck last year, and was in the same mood.....and the next morning, let the air out of the buckasaurus. |

I sat dark to dark today. It was really slow early morning but I saw 12 bucks and 7-8 does from 9:30-11am. Most from 100 yards and moving fast after the hot does.
This evening I decided to let the air out of a doe at dark for jerky.....and a shot I make 99 of 100 times, I shot under it(sound familiar). So...In short, I'm a dumbass. I had dropped my bow 2 days ago and hadn't checked the site since.......and its now shooting about 9" low at 20 yards. hmmmmmm.....Could it be why I SHOT UNDER the boss of the woods? pppppfffffffffffft. |

So.....its 2 days into the Missouri Rifle season.....where you get to use rifles, during the rut. You might as well tie them to trees. Report the damage...
