I entered into my first ever options trade today. Did sell to open and made a $1,200.00 premium and then the option should (hopefully) expire without me having to buy any stocks. The stock will have to go down 30% before the option expires for me to have to buy the stocks so I think I'm good.

You guys might want to consider selling some Twitter. Currently getting hacked. Big accounts. Apple, Uber, Musk, Bloomburg, Bezos, Kanye, Obama, Biden. It's a BTC scam.

See if it supports $3 for awhile and then just stop loss it there if it does. Hopefully it climbs and you can sell at a higher price.

How many shares do you have?

I wish much more than I do but since I have never traded before and was just bored during lockdown I opened an etrade account with some play money. I believe I only bought about 3 or 500 shares when it was just around $1 or so. I also bought some AAL at $9, OXY, MRO.......but again just pocket change to have some fun. This is why I am not terribly nervous about holding or not.....not enough skin in the game lol...

I've got the Jack. I bought into a subscription that picks the stocks and the terms so all I do is execute the trade. They have an over 90% hit rate so we'll see how it goes. I feel good about it.

Interesting. Options can be useful.

Care to share the stock you’ve sold options on?

I mean if you ever get 14%+ on any position in a relatively short holding period then it's in your interest GTFO and collect profit.

I'd rather go higher, depends on the stock and circumstances but generally it needs to get higher then that.
