50 Beers to Try Before You Die

Thought the beer snobs here might like this article (and probably critique the hell out of it).

http://www.wisdeo.com/articles/view_post/2984
(CBS) You've heard of "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall"?

How about 50 to try before you die?!
Spoiler!

I'm not sure Ground Control still has any but if they do, I should get myself a 4 pack of it.

As much as I dislike buyer's remorse for beer and bourbon due to my extreme snobbery, TG gets the benefit of the doubt every time.

I personally think it would be difficult to beat Cherry Fandango, but would put this one right behind it... related to the conversation in here before, they do such a great job of combining flavors and finding what works.

They did a fantastic job with the apple flavor and not having the caramel take over, but it's definitely still there. Just like Cherry Fandango, it's not just cherry, it's all the flavors of cherry pie in perfect harmony.

I like Berry Patch Fandango and Pineapple Papaya, but there's just something extra special about nailing a food recipe in beer form (much like Southern Tier Creme Brulee or Cinnamon Roll).

Currently thinking about TNF beer... that one is definitely in the running, a bit lighter on a work night, yet dangerously crushable.

How was it? Prairie does some good stuff, but these seem like sugar bombs. Pun intended of course.

One of their better ones for sure... thick marshmallowy goodness.

They aren't as consistent as they should be, especially their sours can be really good or very mediocre. Stouts are usually a good bet, except for a couple of rum barrels that I didn't care for at all.

Ran in to grab some to-go beers because I have to get on a ladder this afternoon to swap out a light fixture and saw this North Park/Other Half collab on tap

And now I'm going to have to hit up the Equilibrium tap room... I'm sure I've had their beer, but nothing like this one. Excellent mostra coffee stout.

Notes: In Science, the symbol most often used for density is ρ (the lower case Greek letter Rho). We used a brand new grain bill to create a stout with a dense mouthfeel and a dialed back bitterness. To help elevate this into a coffee stout, we worked closely with Mike and the experts at Mostra Coffee. Mostra Coffee is an artisan micro-roasting company that sources, roasts, brews, and serves only high-grade specialty coffee. Mostra was recently named a top three finalist for Roaster of the Year 2019 from Roast Magazine, and won Best Original Cold Brew and Best Signature Cold Brew at the Cold Brew City Competition.

Collectively, we chose a unique washed single origin ‘Colombia Tolima’ coffee, which has notes of mulling spice, apple, and hints of milk chocolate throughout.

Rho pours jet black with a saturated caramel colored head. This coffee created an extremely integrated and well-balanced beer. Its aroma is dark chocolate, caramel apple, cinnamon and clove, fresh coffee, dried fruit, and leather. The taste is a milky dark chocolate, dried cherries, hints of vanilla, and a lingering coffee backbone with light bitterness. It is silky, creamy, viscous and its flavor is reminiscent of an affogato dessert.

I honestly shy away from most triple IPAs as the higher ABV requires more grain, so they typically end on the sweeter side for my liking. Most are kind of a sweet, hoppy mess in my experience. So it takes solid technique to get one balanced

6.5 - 8% is about my sweet spot for hazies but breweries that know what they're doing can pull off the triples

Hell, not sure how many not-hazy triple IPAs I've tried.... waiting for the triple pastry stout, tbh.

Totally in the same boat. Too sweet, too fusel.

Alma Mader has had a couple good ones but even when they're good, I can't drink more than one.

First time trying this Odell's tropical sour. I have tried more fruit flavored beers this year than in all my years prior combined. They taste great in this summertime heat.

Flavors of Passion Fruit, Pineapple and Tangerine. Looking forward to having a few tomorrow

Do NOT waste time with this beer - it sucks

So over carbonated, little to no taste and just one of the worst lackluster beers I have had.

Odell's is usually good but wow this is shockling bad.
