I posted this pic in the wheelin thread. This is my 1966 bronco. She is in the final stages of a mechanical rebuild right now. I should have her back on the road in a month or so. Can't wait. Fun to drive with the original 289 and 3 on the tree.

I am due for an oil change. I will ask the mechanic if there is any issue.
I do have a gold plan for a warranty. Fuel pump and EGR's are covered forever.

Dumped my F-150 (2010 Limited) for my Ram.
Hated that Ford, love my Ram. So much little shit was always breaking on that Ford. And you're burning oil in a 5 year old truck with an ANCIENT motor in it? I mean Ford's been building 5 liter V8s for decades. Granted, the Coyote is a relatively new variant, but it's still been around for over a decade -- they shouldn't have seals failing this early (I have to assume that's the issue if it's burning oil already). That said...your mechanic's response is...puzzling. I mean if it wasn't doing that when new, it's clearly not a machining issue. It almost has to be some seal that's worn a bit. So...replace 'em. That's not a full engine rebuild and if you had a burr or something in there that survived the polishing step that eventually created the flaw in the seal, they can fix that up pretty easily. I mean my old Camaro had a bad rear main (they all do; that 2-piece main seal is notorious for it) so it was burning oil. My mechanic got up there, found a little imperfection in the crankshaft, filed it down a bit and about 6-8 years later, despite sitting dormant every winter, I don't have any oil burning issues still. Seems odd that his answer is "fill it or sell it..."
