in 20 years, the character in Madden's Longshot mode, will be interacting with Mahommes as his mentor in the game.

We have 3 weeks until Madden 18...I think that's enough time to squeeze in a Madden 17 season with Mahomes as the Chiefs starter.

People compare him to Bret Farve but I see him more of a mobile Dan Marino and Dan Marino played his rookie year and took Dolphins to the Super Bowl and he was 22.

So it's not unrealistic this kid can shine even thrust into the NFL he was thrust into starting job in High School and college it's just the next level up.
The difference is that Marino had a smaller learning curve.

His mechanics in college were almost flawless, so he didn't have to rebuild them from the ground up.

Mahomes has really worked hard on those mechanics, but they aren't going to be ingrained and be natural for a while.

When the real bullets start flying, his natural instincts will take over, and he'll revert to those poor mechanics.

What was up with Marino his Senior year at Pittsburgh? Didn't he have a down year that year compared to the year before which was presumably part of why he fell in the draft? After reading what you wrote, I assume it wasn't a mechanical thing...just have an "off" year with questionable decision making?

Down year with a new head coach, and rumors of drug use.

If he can stand there and throw darts all over the field like Marino, does the emphasis on his mechanics have to be a big deal? I mean if his throw power is natural because he has been throwing granted baseballs from age 5 his arm caries through it. I understand the importance of mechanics but I don't fully understand it either I would say be effective is what matters.

Mahomes arm/release mechanics are fine. Almost ideal, IMO.

It's his footwork that needs work, and playing from under center.

His arm strength isn't an issue, but if his accuracy is off a little because of poor mechanics, he won't get away with those passes that are slightly off the mark in the pros that he got away with in college.

Bortles has been paying that price in Jacksonville, having reverted back to his poor mechanics.

He throws off his back foot far too much.

Earlier this summer I thought Reid said they are not going to rebuild his mechanics? Work on some things, yes. But not a rebuild. Learning the language was the bigger thing.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that's what he said.

Again I know the importance of being able to play from under center it's a big part of the WCO whatever. I've seen Tom Brady and Peyton Manning make a career killing defenses out of the shotgun. So why not use Mahomes and adapt to his style but I know coach Reid thinks his offense is so great yet it's not.

Mahomes is a gunslinger he can succeed out of the shotgun.

Just curious, would you use the same ratings as Madden 18 for 17 or based on your own assessment?

Ok that's understandable I can agree then.

The good part of what I've heard about Mahomes since OTA and camps are that he never makes the same mistake twice so he is a quick study and I think that will help him adapt to the NFL.

All of these things are correctable for Pat. I think it's the playbook that will take the most time.

I don't get why? Remember Al Saunders playbook? Offense had all kinds of shifts formations and audibles. That offense had to be more complex yet it was effective of course it had the best Oline and TE and RB and a solid Quarterback to run it that made it look like a well oiled machine. I don't get why Andy Reid offense is suppose to be so difficult.
