Ended up deciding to do an LS swap in my 79 Trans Am. Ordered a 590 HP LS3 from Texas Speed and a 4l80e trans from Bowler. Honestly, we're pretty much gutting the car and starting over. Kind of crazy that this will be my third fastest vehicle.

My girls and I took home 1st place in the 1941-54 category voted by participants and 1st in her class by the judges at the Boy Scouts car show last weekend. My girls were pretty pumped. Standing next to my 1945 Willys MB.
I loaded her up with all sorts of original pieces. M1 Carbine, grenades, mortars, food, smokes, radio, walkie talkies, and field gear. |

I've been considering selling my 67 Chevy II, kind of burnt out on drag racing and the work and money involved.

What ECU solution you going with? Stock? Holley? And good job going with the 4l80, I see all the time these restomods or nice older cars with LS swaps and they choose 4l60s |

I agree with MIA. I also own a 67 Nova Pro Street car. The engine I have in it is also the one in my profile pic. The car sat the entire year without being started. I'd sold another classic car a few years back and regret it every day.

Texas Speed offers the Holley Terminator with their turnkey packages so we just went with that.

I'm guessing someone else is doing the work? Even if so, get in there and get your hands dirty! I have bought a lot of cars, and have built a few. I am far more proud of the cars I built, even with lots of help from friends~ |

I have a buddy who owns a repair shop, has done plenty of LS swaps, and is a Holley dealer so he had a lot of tuning experience. I'm not mechanically inclined, which is kind of ironic since I own a successful automotive tool and parts business. I'll get my hands dirty on the interior and audio and wiring. I work a lot to pay for stuff like this so I can't be over at his shop helping much.

Maybe this isn't the right thread for this, but it's gearhead business.
Anyone done silicone wiper blades? Out here in the desert rubber wiper blades dry rot and then are worthless. Sometimes on the farm pickups they're dead before they even get used. Google machine says silicone wiper blades are longer lasting. https://www.thedrive.com/reviews/282...e-wiper-blades I'm looking for some real world reviews. |

No, they don't self tune. That's bullshit. And no, they DO require a Laptop tune from a pro tuner, don't give a **** what Holley says. Oh, and if you ever change altitudes you can expect your car to run like shit.

Hey, you got a mechanic you trust who loves those TBI kits and wants to install them, more power to ya. I'm not trying to dissuade you, just throwing in my 2cents fwiw.
