1. It's used as an emulsifier here. 2. Shit is used to make dressing, what do you thing you do with it? Snort it? 3. Bet you'd never know this is there, either. It's 3 tablespoons for 3 pounds of meat. |

Yes, I'm quite aware what it is used to make, but its used in the cheater recipe as seasoning, not dressing. He'd still never even know it's in the recipe. I see that they use mayo in the NYT recipe. No, he'd never know it was there. He's a grown man, he should suck it up and get over it...

http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...postcount=5156 which was regarding the packet recipe, not the NYT recipe. There is no ranch dressing seasoning in the NYT version.

Made roasted pumpkin seeds last night
My God they were delicious..... I just washed them...let them get air dry....laid them out on a cookie sheet .. Made a bowl with butter, salt & pepper, garlic, a little worstershire, and some lemon Drizzled it all over , used a brush to mix them all and rub the drizzle in Roasted at about 325 for about 30 min....I mixed them around a couple times during.....let them get medium dark and real crispy Hit them with some more salt and a little paprika after.. Ate them warm.

This soup is good. I recommend it. It's a spin on Ree Drummond's, so I'm giving you my version. It's super easy.
1 regular sized-can of each: Meat-only chili Diced tomatoes Rotel Corn with green/red peppers, rinsed and drained Light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained Black beans, rinsed and drained Pinto beans, rinsed and drained 3 slices of bacon, diced 1 onion, diced 4 c. chicken stock 1 Tbsp. chopped up chipotle in adobo (optional) Salt & pepper to taste Render out the bacon on medium low in a big stock pot. Raise heat to medium and add the onion and cook until translucent. Then dump everything in, bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes. Check for seasonings, and enjoy. |

I know there are several of us that follow Cook's Illustrated and America's Test Kitchen... Well, ATK is suing Christopher Kimball (who founded the joint) over his new venture, Milk Street.

Thanks, no and Aldi. I smeared butter on them and threw them on the cast iron to heat / brown them up. Last edited by Buzz; 11-01-2016 at 06:06 PM.. |
