However is Pacheco can be a home run threat then that is pretty valuable.
I just don't even care about "elite RB". I don't think there's a huge value difference in a good one and an elite one, especially in this offense.

It's just so easy to find them year in year out, I'd prefer to take risks and chances on DE's or CB's or whatever early in the draft.

Burt Vilanch is GOING to miss on more draft picks in the future. How do I know this? Because there's not a single GM in the history of this game with a stunning and perfect draft pick record, where every single pick meets or surpasses expectations.

How long are you dweebs going to keep this shit up? **** man, we JUST about finished with the whiney dumb bitches complaining about not drafting Tyler Lockett (even though we got Mitch Morse, a pretty damn good player). Do you stop when the controversial player is no longer on the team or some shit?

I'm not playing what it on the specific player.

I'm playing it with the position. The upside for a RB that early just isn't there.

Veach is gonna miss on guys. They all do.

But don't take RB's early.

Would it perhaps be in Ronald Jones best interest to get cut? He gets 750k guaranteed and only has like a 1.1M total contract or something. If he gets cut he could get another contract like that from a team in need and make upwards of 2x or even 3x

If Veach hits on Pacheco he hit a damn bullseye from outside the room. The numbers really don't support your argument. The best backs come from the first 4 rounds with a few late rounds sprinkled in. And then some teams run very run-friendly offenses

Typically the later you wait to draft an RB your left with more Duds than studs.....this year it seemed like the RB talent was really even throughout the draft. I didn't see a single first round talent

There are 1k yard RB's every year in the league that are UDFA's or mid/late round picks.

https://www.pro-football-reference.c...21/rushing.htm

Here's last years. Looks liek alot of 3rd/4th and later drafted players on there to me.

Yea I referenced this list in a post earlier in this thread i just didnt link it......
My goal for this offense would be to have a top 20 back....there's only 3 or 4 in that list. I think you get to 7 or 8 when you go out to maybe top 30. Seems like to me you get out of a position what you put into it. You want a little production. Invest little resources...you want better? Invest better resources

The Chiefs aren't going to have a top 10 back in the league. They aren't gonna run it that much, nor should they. They have Patrick Mahomes at QB.

I don't want to invest resources in the RB position because it's a fungible position that can be filled with a mid to late round pick and cycled thru every 3 or 4 years.

You say as this as we've been trying to find a decent solution at RB for the last 4-5 years.

And they have actually always found a decent solution. Every time. And have put a top 5 offense on the field.

Not much of a difference between the RBs we've had and Jonathan Taylor!

This isn't the 1997 Chiefs.

Literally you can find a RB anywhere that should be capable in this offense.
