Vienna Beef is definitely a cut above both, if you're in the testing mood.
Look for the blue V They also are the absolute PINNACLE for Corned Beef come St. Patty's season.

The Hy-Vee ad was was misleading, they were $3.98 per 8oz strip, I missed the fine print. I forgot to look for the hot dogs at Aldi. |

Man, Aldi had a treasure trove of cheapo kitchen gadgets this week.
If I didn't already have a lot of them, the silicone stuff, the pressure cooker, and the induction stovetop would have been on my list.

I got all excited about the digital scale and forgot to look for the hot dogs. For $9.99 I couldn't pass it up, now I gotta figure out how to use the thing, the instructions are crap.

Making TX chili from an ATK recipe in 2007. It calls for beans. I can't imagine how much hate mail they got for that.

Best sausage I have ever had is a rattlesnake and pheasant sausage but cannot get nationally. Johnsonsville Firecracker brats or Hatch Green Chile are usually my go to at that point. Hot dog's, Nathan's are the best national brand. Not a fan of Hebrew National. There can be some real gems found in regional brands though.

I have. I struggle to buy it, honestly. I have hardbound annuals from every year of Cook's Illustrated, and the show rarely has anything that doesn't end up in the magazine... but I love their books in general. Would readily recommend it to anyone looking for a general cookbook. |
