Unadulterated Mayo is fine on the shelf. If you mix so much as a sprinkle of seasoning, let alone meats or vegetables into it, refrigerate immediately.
I didn't believe it at first, but I bought two jars, one on the shelf and one in the fridge. Months later, absolutely no difference. If you have cheap mayo, the oils will actually be the first to turn. It yellows and gets a little nutty like rancid olive oil. But Hellman's is as shelf stable as anything outside honey. Most anything you can find in a packet [ketchup, mustard, BBQ, jelly, Tabasco, mayo, honey, etc., of course sugar and nondairy creamer] is shelf safe in an airtight container.

What's For Dinner? Here's Mine Vol. 3.
Anyone that cares: the Misen Kickstarter knives came in. Haven't used them yet, but they feel good and look pretty nice. Good weight to them, they feel sturdy. Sharp out of the box.
Planning to do something with a lot of prep this weekend to break one in and get a feel for it. |

I did, when my apartment caught fire we left most of the dishes/cutlery in the dishwasher. I have to purchase a new one.

Onions and tomatoes, I have kept in the fridge, potatoes in the cabinet. I thought that's what the crisper was for?

Onions will sprout (same with garlic) in cold. Refrigeration degrades flavor of tomatoes. https://www.google.com/amp/mobile.ny...?client=safari Generally, store food how you find it at the store. If it's fridged at the store, fridge it at home. |

Went for the hot dog gold yesterday and bought some Hebrew Nationals, had never tried them before because the price seemed way outta wack for a simple hotdog
They do look different, they're bigger and have a darker color to them than regular dogs... will try several later tonight and report back if they're worth the money |
