Losing Vic Fangio is the best thing that ever happened to that team. Denver is going to get 2nd in the AFC West next year and make the playoffs. Chargers will implode somehow and the Raiders will be the Raiders.

I can’t agree more. He’s also a PR nightmare which in turn affects the team and the general morale. I’ll be shocked if he doesn’t make some kind of controversy in offseason

The way I look at it is that Denver will probably be better next year than the were the past several, but lacking any young cheap talent over the next 2 years, they will be crap again in soon enough. Think if a team totally whiffed on two consecutive drafts. Factor in that in two years the current young talent base will be entering mid-career, more injured, and more expensive. Some players will leave through free agency. With a bare cupboard coming up behind them.

This is a short term play. It elevates Denver from a doormat to a division contender for a couple of years. They still have an upward climb to win a single division title over the next few years.

Yep. The Broncos now face an upward climb. But Tuesday morning they didn’t have half a shot in hell.

Really trying to see any downside at all in this move.

They have a young roster as it is... they lose 4 picks in the next two years. Yeah, they're top picks... but it's just 4 spots.

Denver is young across the board right now. It's not an aging team and they're in good cap position.

2021 was a bad run for SEA and it was the first time in 10 years that they (with Wilson at QB) finished with fewer than 9 wins. They came in 4th in a division with the Rams, Cardinals and 49ers - that's pretty stiff competition.

Wilson missed two games and in a down year threw 25 TDs and 6 INTs.

All this talk about getting older and fading skills... at some point it will happen, but I don't think he's there yet - there's no trend to suggest that's happening.

I do know this - Denver got better today, much better at the most important position. Denver has a lot of young talent at WR and RB and they still have 5 picks in the first 4 rounds this year (R2, R3, R3, R4, R4) - 7 overall this year.

I can't wait to see how things progress in Denver with Russell Wilson. The AFCW is much tougher today. No, this doesn't guarantee anything ... other than the fact Denver is a better team and it will be tougher to beat them on any given week.

honestly Denver is instant playoffs now. They were already tough, good defense and some talent on offense outside of QB. Broncos fans are probably thinking we won't get our 14th straight win on them now but I think we will. This is going to be the toughest division in the NFL now, tbh and we'll still own it.

I'll say this... I'm more confident than any time in the last few years in believing the streak can end. Will it end? Who knows... but, I like their chances much better now.

I'm still confident in the Chiefs winning the division next year, but I will say that the playoff expansion a few years back isn't looking so bad at this point given the strength of the AFC West.

It would be awesome if the Chiefs got the No. 1 seed and the Chargers, Broncos, and Raiders got the wild cards.

And then all three wild cards won and we had the Mahomes-Herbert-Wilson-Carr AFC Divisional playoffs.

What about since Mahomes has been a starter?

There you go... since 2018, Mahomes leads the league with 49 wins and Wilson sits at 6th with 39. Last season was his first under .500 wins, so that didn't help.

#4 on the list is kinda funny.

TEX ... we had this 'entitled fanbase' talk a while back about QBs. And, this trade for Russell will just continue to feed that beast. Would be nice to see them draft a guy at some point, but I've resigned myself to the fact that it likely will never happen. But, if all I have to do is wait 5-6 years between top QBs, so be it.

This season is definitely going to be different than the last half dozen... will be interesting to see how FA and the draft plays out. Wonder if Denver looks at Ertz, Gronk or Tonyan @ TE. Tonyan would be curious fit.

Exactly my point. Since he was brought in to counter Mahomes.

Denver has never drafted a solid franchise QB, so I'd just continue playing the poaching one from another team card... Said entitled fan base ought to temper their expectations. In no way would I expect the same results as Manning provided, because the division has younger / much better QB's now than it did back then, and two are legit Super Stars. But Denver fans are gonna pound chest anyway and likely learn a lesson in the process...Any decent TE can replace Fant's numbers, especially with a good QB. He was not special.

So, let the evolution of an entitled Denver fan base continue. There are still many lessons yet to learn...

Yeah, overall... I'm not worried about who has won 49 or 39 games.

Hell, one could say KC has feasted on a shit division until last season. Either way, the division is much better now than it has been in decades. Hell, this may end up being the most competitive it has ever been.

Wilson was brought in to counter Mahomes and Herbert to get out of the West and then battle the likes of Allen, Burrow and all the others. You need a top QB more than ever now in the AFC.

Adding Wilson puts Denver in the division conversation, it definitely guarantees nothing. The AFC is deep, so sure - fans can think WC at this point... but it's a tough road to win the AFCW. Depending on how things go the AFCW winner could be the lowest top seed, which may not be a bad thing.
