I think there is different philosophies on how to build a team. I would put forth in the Colts case that by locking up 5 players to huge contracts that they have limited themselves in upgrading their roster by other means. But I also realize the Polian's don't like FA that much and they do draft good.

Sure but it plays into the idea that they are a top drafting team..same as Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Philly and so on that always walk away from players and never pay big money in FA.
