In a game the Chiefs lost by six points, Alex Smith missed three wide open TDs

And yes he had a clean pocket on the second one.

When has this happened before...against the Steelers...in a crucial game....

Spoiler!

Flame away.

I think so too, I think we win the game if that ball is caught.

The problem is that the box 7 for the Steelers is pretty damn average when you get right down to it and yet Erving was terrible. I'm not real sure how you can send him out there again after that performance.

On a day where everyone was pretty shitty, it's hard to stand out. You have to really really suck to stand alone from that lot yesterday. Yet Erving managed to do exactly that.

He was abysmal and I don't think you can play him again outside of an emergency situation. Surely they can get Ehinger out there now.
Hopefully Morse comes back this week. At worst then you either start Ehinger at RG or you put Fulton at RG. Anybody is better than Erving at this point. Talk about a ****ing bust. Jesus Christ.

Those missed passes to Robinson...lord.

Those are just awful, awful misses. That's some Matt Cassel shit right there. You very rarely see a quarterback just whiff on a throw that badly.

Robinson proved that he isn't a replacement for Conley.....but he's a damn good WR. He'll look even better with Mahomes.

I don't know that he proved anything one way or the other.

Throw him the damn ball.

I certainly think he could be more than just a straight line speed guy like Conley is.

Alex missed some throws, the first half play calling and defense was ass. Alex also kept some plays alive he didn’t in previous years and the defense made some big stops in the second half to give us a chance. The Chiefs as a team just didn’t get it done. No one is perfect and until you see trends this year it’s just bullshit to nitpick like this. This year belongs to Alex like it or not. I love Mahomes but I seriously doubt we’d be close to 5-1 with him starting so give Alex a break and some credit for a good start. I want the Mahomes era to start no later than next year, but let’s be fair.

Instead, he was as bad as the rest of the team was (except for Erving...nobody was as bad as Cameron Erving).

That's damn frustrating. On a shit sunday of a day, I hate that Smith provided the cherry on top. There are so many things about that game that defy reasonable explanation so instead you just end up at "man, the Steelers are just in these guys' heads..."
It was weird in that he made some plays to keep hope alive but just couldn't hit the play when needed.

I don't really know what else there is than they're just in their heads. Denver was the same way a few years ago with manning.

This one is hard to defend, but overall Alex has been good. I’m not going to argue that one throw cost us the game, but Alex has won games this year. That hasn’t been the case in previous years. Pittsburgh had their backs against the wall, and wanted it a little more yesterday.

Hard to put that on Robinson; he has a hell of a catch radius due to his explosion and leaping ability.

Those balls just flat out weren't catchable and I have no damn idea what kind of 'chemistry' issues would've led to that. Those were easy pitch/catches to a clearly open target that Smith just flat whiffed on.

That was baaaaaaaad.
