But the stamina in his legs is a different matter. He can probably be on the low impact stuff like the cycles in December (usually once you're off crutches), but yeah - it's not ideal to be banking on him being in football shape come January.

Watson was playing like a top 10 corner, Rashee a top 5 to 10 WR. MASSIVE losses and feel bad for young, developing talent.

Agreed, and they also prefer offensive minded HCs....but if Spags told his agent to put out the word that he wanted one more shot, surely a few of : LV, NYG, Dalla, JAX, or Carolina would call with blue-steel boners

With Watson out that plan becomes a bit harder, but with Uche providing him his Osi Umenyiora type speed rusher that could change a lot. Spags could run the NYG defense only rushing 4 and having more bodies back to help cover.

And if you're going for a defense guy, you're gonna focus on a younger one, IMO. Now what I would do if I were a team like NYG or Carolina who might struggle to get 'pick of the litter' among HC candidates, is that I'd talk to a HC like Spags who may have a 3-5 year shelf life AND hire some young hot-shit QB coach or Offensive Assistant as my OC. And the pitch is a simple one - this guy's gonna get the defense figure out and you're gonna have the keys to the offense. If this works, you're going to get a TON of credit (see Ben Johnson) and you're either in the driver's seat to take Spags job if/when he hangs 'em up or you're going to be a really attractive candidate elsewhere. I think focusing exclusively on an offensive HC might be a little short-sighted in some circumstances.
