With the beginning of a new year, it is time for the 2012 version of the Royals Repository Thread. We've got Hosmer, we've got a 2011-dominating Gordon, we've got Moose, we've got hopefully a killer bullpen, we've got a stereotypical slow slugging DH, we've got easily one of the best defensive shortstops in the AL, we've got a promising catcher in Salvador Perez. Hell, we've got offense and promising prospects galore.

We do not have starting pitching.

Oh yeah, we've also got this:

Get ready for, (as of January 2012 anyway), one of the most confusing puzzles of a baseball season in recent Royals history. Will they suck? Maybe, I don't know. Will we be given a year of 0.500 baseball? Possibly, I don't know. Will they win the division and go to the playoffs for the first time in 27 years? For the first time in a long time, it could happen, I don't know. 92 losses, 92 wins, or anything in between would not surprise a lot of us.

Everything goes here except Gameday threads and really big news. If a giant story breaks, the Royals achieve some awesome milestone, or we sign/lose a highly significant player/coach/mascot/whatever, then it might also deserve its own thread. This being Chiefs Planet, please do not clutter the board with new threads about trivial Royals news or you will only annoy those who come here for just Chiefs football. If you aren't sure and its not a Gameday thread, it goes here.

What sort of stuff often goes here? SPchief explained it well, so I'll just copy that:

Why did you belive it was out of line?

I didn't find it partcularly beligerant - considering sports talk radio is a fan driven media.

To me, the question was to probe if Glass has any barometer to his own fan bases' attitudes towards the team. I don't think that question is assanine to ask given the rumors of him selling the team / the fact that he doesn't live here.

I’m glad Parkins had the balls to get in Glass’ face. In my mind, Glass has no idea how hated he is in this town; he thought he would pop up, BS with the fans a bit, get them to dump more money on his shitty product, then disappear to count his cash and laugh at how stupid we are.

Why? Basically asking him what he thinks about fan frustration and dissatisfaction with the product. These are legit points and worthy of a response.

The All Star Game, like the Super Bowl, isn't for the fans. It's a big party for rich people. Real fans are priced out of it. Back in 1973, the Royals let fans send in a post card for a chance to get tickets to the game. Only one winning post card per fan would be allowed, but you could send in as many as you wanted. Each winner would get two tickets. My dad did that, and won two seats, and the price on the seats were about the same as a regular Royals game. Fast forward 40 years later, only season ticket holders can buy a seat. No drawing, no advantage to Jackson County taxpayers who RENOVATED the GODDAMN STADIUM to allow the game to come here. Only people who get to go now are the rich, and I'll bet you 75 percent of the locals who are there live in Johnson County, and didn't pay a damn dime to renovate the stadium.

So I'm not going to anything. Home run derby, futures game, nothing. I'll just watch it all on my big screen TV, which is another change since 1973. Also, it'll be 73 degrees in my living room, not the 93 degrees that are optimistically forecast for game night.

While I agree with the sentiment, my boss got 2 “strips” (or whatever the packages are called), and he isn’t exactly a baller/CEO/trust fund baby. And he lives on the MO side.
