I'm obsessing about this a little bit. When you say "pan fried taco," are you using a flour soft taco as your shell? And exactly what are you trying to accomplish - crunchy like a fried burrito or like a crunchy taco?

I've pan fried a few burritos over that past week or so, and they all have gotten nicely browned with a slightly crispy texture to them. They're not chewy, they're still definitely a burrito, but the tortilla has a wonderful textural contrast to it. And I've only been using 2-3 tablespoons of oil.

It sounds like he's using corn, but taking them out too soon.

I'm hitting the driving range this morning and decided to make a Michelada before going. It's definitely not La Cabanas famous Michelada mix. I'm trying to figure out what's missing. Still good either way.

Umami type sauce commonly found in micheladas (and many other things). Basically Worcestershire in Mexico.

You might try dumping that nasty shit out and getting a real drink. See if that helps.

Here's the base recipe I use:

Quote:
Salt, for rimming the glasses
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (from about 2 medium limes), rinds reserved
Ice
1 1/2 cups light Mexican beer, such as Corona
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons hot sauce, such as Tabasco
1 teaspoon Maggi or soy sauce
Freshly ground black pepper, for garnish
I make a few modifications.

First I cut out the lime juice. I keep the ice as is. I also cut the Worcestershire sauce, the Tobasco, the soy, and the pepper. Finally, I replace the Corona with Diet Dr. Pepper.
