Let's talk about the Miami Dolphins

Here is my $500,000 question on this game.

Will Spags and Co play it straight and keep their powder dry for the playoffs?

Last season the Chiefs defense (and maybe Andy, don't recall) kept things very vanilla when they went to Cincy.

They lost that battle, but won the war, because the defensive wrinkles Spags wanted to use against the Bengals were unveiled in the AFC Championship and held their offense at bay just enough for gimpy Mahomes to drag us over the finish line late.

Will Spags come into this game guns blazing and try to take out the Dolphins early this season? OR will he keep his cards hidden for the real season?

If they come out focused and motivated, we will beat Miami and most likely by more than one score.

If they don’t come out 100% focused…Miami might do the same.

After last week and the rumblings about the WRs, it sure would be nice if they could come out and have a big offensive output while our defense causes some turnovers…but Miamis secondary is pretty damn good, so that may be a tall task.

Controversy usually brings out the best in this team, especially Patrick. When they’re coasting, they get content, which is somewhat understandable. It’s hard to win 8 in a row in this league, which is what we’d be trying to if we had beaten Denver.

In hindsight, as ugly as last week was, it may have been the best thing for the team in the long run. It was a necessary wake up call. Can’t just show up and expect to win. I’m anticipating a highly focused, intense performance on both sides of the ball.

Yeah you never know. Hell you could get a damn wildcard spot and enter the playoffs with a chapped red ass Mahomes and still have as decent of a chance as almost anyone.

People are such prisoners of the moment. The Denver game was terrible but everyone forgot that a week prior, we mopped the floor with the Chargers. No we didn't blow them out but we looked like one of the best teams in the NFL.

This team has always responded well to tough losses. I expect the same thing this time.

I disagree that KC looked like one of the best teams in the NFL that game. It was a score fest in the first half where the D looked suspect as heck for the first time all year and the O finally showed life. Then halftime adjustments shut both offenses down in the second half. KC finally put it away, but it was a good half game from the O and a good half of football from the D. Not a solid 60 from both groups. I think we will need a solid 60 this weekend.

Agreed. In the 2nd half, when the Bolts switched from zone to more man, the Chiefs offense stalled. KC "D" stepped up itself in the 2nd half also. I thought KC looked pretty good for the most part that game.

I totally agree, but at the same time the "because Chiefs" crowd of yesteryear could recite the play by play of the 2nd half of the Colts playoff loss off the top of their head as proof they shouldn't ever get excited if good things are happening.... but now the opposite is true where bad things only happen occasionally and everyone completely forgets we talk about "this game is for the one seed!" and stress the **** out after every loss, then everything changes and the Chiefs figure it out anyway.... every. damn. year.

So, I feel like that's partly the PTSD effect and taking losses far too seriously, and even so many years into Mahomes, not allowing yourself to just enjoy the ride because they might not win the SB every season.

That's just football. Scoring is down across the league and there's going to be constant chess matches to stop Mahomes and the better QBs across the league... the league thought they had it figured out in '21, they thought they'd get a break last season, and now the Chiefs are 6-2 again.

Yeah, other teams are going to win battles... it's not CFB.
