Andy Reid called me, and he asked CP to fix the offense.

I think we can all agree the offense has not been up to par this season.

At this point, there's only so much we can do about it. Our best WR got injured and is missing the season, our best RB is out until December, our LT situation is messy and our stud TE is looking his age.

So, is this who we are now? Is 30 points a game a distant memory?

What can be done?

(Andy Reid is lurking in this thread, so make sure you're on your best behavior.)

I can see saying "hey, it happens - keep firing" and moving along. But as a rearview snapshot, it IS the reality the Chiefs were working with at that time in the Bengals game.
Just went and watched a bit. The first drive Hendrickson beats the rookie almost immediately twice. Every play after that AT LEAST two blockers get their hands on Hendrickson.

He's not a ton more than that, but it seems like by and large, you'll get average to slightly below from him.

That's pretty much the exact definition of 'playable' if certainly sub-optimal.
This was Matt Lane's take. Wanya is playable. That what he showed Sunday is enough to still win a SB.

But he also maintained that Kingsley is the one with the chance to be truly good and obviously you hope he gets there whenever his number gets called again. It's probably gonna happen this year and by then, he needs to at least be "playable".

Sometimes I do wish we had just mortgaged the draft this year for Alt, but 20/20 hindsight.

Seriously, go check out the highlights. I'm currently sitting at 3 minutes left in the third and there's ONE rep where Coleman is left one on one against Hendrickson after the first drive.

In Washington's defense their 3rd round rookie OT was not athletic or strong but technically sound.

Well we can agree that needs to be part of the offense now no matter who plays, because the RBs don't give us much as receivers anyhow. They can chip and release every time for all I care.

Telling that Veach went hard for Silverback and then traded for what he thoughts was stud in OBJ(gross) and then there were lots of smoke around Veach trying to trade for Tunsil before they gave him a new contract.

Lots of actions by Veach points to Pat's Blindside!

Here you're preaching to the choir - nobody thinks that leaving Kingsley out there to die and eventually get benched was a good idea.

However, if you think that was Nagy's doing, I just don't know what to tell you. That's been a Reid thing back to well before he was a glint in Clark Hunt's eye.

I mean hell, it's ultimately what ruined his time in Philly. Sending King Dunlap and Todd Herremans out there to get their shit pushed in after injuries rocked his OL in 2012 finished him in Philly.

But this is simply who he is.

Blaming that on Nagy just ignores literal decades of historical data.

I still think giving Taylor a look at Pat's blindside while the young tackles fight it out and take their lumps on the right side where Mahomes can actually watch for pressure.

Would've cost you this year's and next.

And would've been doubly difficult in such a top-heavy draft.

The Bears and Commanders weren't trading back that far. Don't think the Cardinals were either.

So you're talking about trading up to 3 with NE? Who valued Drake Maye enough that they took him ahead of Marvin Harrison Jr?

I mean hell, if you try to do the math, this years entire draft PLUS next year's 1st and 2nd doesn't get you to the #3 overall spot if you put the 80% future value tax on the draft picks (to say nothing of the 'one round more' approach that some take).

Unless you're literally giving up 3 seasons worth of 1st and 2nd round picks, I don't think it's doable.

Nobody's going to be eager to move to the dead-ass back end of the round in a draft with 6-8 genuine blue-chip prospects in it.

Oh I know, wasn't ever happening, just kinda blows that our only shot to secure an elite LT for the next 10 years is probably paying the next Trent Williams in their 30s type of thing.

But, they don't have to be elite. Just can't be awful. Wide range there and I'm sure one of our pups will meet the threshold in time.

Yeah, Reid has some annoying tendencies that are prone to getting him in trouble from time to time, that's why I'd like for him to hire an OC that isn't a pity hire nut hugging sycophant. Someone that brings ANYTHING of value. Because it sure as shit hasn't been Matt Nagy the last couple years.

I mean we really don't know that. Mahomes loves the guy.

That's maybe what is frustrating, the mystery of what Nagy does or doesn't do.

But I gotta tell ya, 2 out of 3 playoff seasons in Chicago with Trubisky is looking better and better by the week. That franchise is less than.
