***The Official EMAW Repository thread***

I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.

KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.

One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future.

Yeah, it was a weird game. I would say that is 2 years in a row K-State has come out unprepared to play. I’ve watched or been at every game we’ve played this year, and that was just a very meh’ish effort for a good chunk of the game.

I have no idea how good our basketball team is going to be this year, but it’s still FB season, so IDGAF

I’m convinced you’re gonna get there. We feel straight up cursed against y’all.

Wouldn’t be surprised if you won out until you became over .500 in the series, too.

Normally, I don’t watch press conference stuff but I did watch LL’s and I have to say the guy was crushed. For a lot of it he was staring straight down into the stat sheet.

They had that game. Not once, but twice. And it just slipped away. And Daniels was really effective in that game. He broke tackles and showed speed and power.

Just unreal how things unfolded. I didn’t have 51 yard FG for the game winner on my bingo card.

I don’t know. There are at least 3 games in the last 6 years that could have gone to KU. The 2019 (2018 maybe) game where KU tore off huge late runs that were called back by penalty and then just bungled the game.

I think he realizes how bad this terrible coaching job this year is gonna set them back.

Cats were very fortunate. That easily could have went the other direction. Avery was very inconsistent. They had multiple opportunities to put the game away, and they kept giving it right back to the Jayhawks for another chance.

A win is a win. But that wasn't very inspiring.

Still counts. Go Cats.

Pretty much every KU game has been like that all season. In fact, in most of the others, they controlled them way more than they ever did against KSU. If there was ever a team that could be 6-2 as easily as 2-6, it is this one under Leopold. The epitome of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

A big subtext to his press conferences was the, uh, unforced error he and Goff made before the season blaming fans for not supporting the program like they should. It built up an unnecessary hostility between him and the KU press people and it’s made him look like he’s lining up in front of a firing squad before each postgame.
