Another thing why is it when a team sits in 2 high we have no ability to run on it?

You'd think when teams show the light box we should be able to run on it...yet we really aren't.

Yeah, I don't think we see anywhere near this level of concern had we lost a 41-38 shootout.

But seeing the offense this dysfunctional across the board - coaching included - was a bucket of cold water to the face.

Those jet sweeps. The entire line and blocking WR's got pushed back 3 yards. It was ugly.

If you're dudes can't get open in that game they aren't gonna get open against anyone...Detroit basically showed you..play zone and KCs WRs are pretty useless.

I know I sound like a broken record but it’s why it just feels like we’re using second groceries for offense. I’m torn because we’ve crushed it with early defensive picks. And yet despite so many of them playing well, none of that seems to matter if the offense is short of exceptional. As long as mahomes is our qb, great defensive performances will always feel lukewarm if the offense is lukewarm. I loved how FAU played yesterday but there’s another part of me that saw Noah gray yesterday and felt that we missed the boat on some really good TEs in the draft this year.

And it’s why I can’t accept that in our constant drive to fix the defense our mentality on offense tends to be to wait for the dam to burst to address it. A great TE helps ease a transition to a lesser kelce and also makes a hell of a TE2 for a team that loves to use TEs. Yeah, I don’t mind sacrificing some defense even for secondary offense parts. But that doesn’t tend to be our mentality

I look at this a different way.

Had we lost a shootout we'd look at it as "same ol Chiefs defense."

Instead, the defense played quite well. Room for improvement? Sure. But I felt like they gave a pretty good effort against a team with a lot of weapons.

I trust Mahomes and the offense to figure things out more than if the defense played horribly.

For a number of games with Mahomes over the years the Chiefs have won those games where they had to win ugly overcoming either because of injuries, suspensions, poor preparation, coaching etc. Last night everything pretty much come home to roost and thats why they lost.

Excellent cut up. There was some missed opportunities but also not alot of separation either. Expect to see almost all zone moving forward I bet lol

The absolute worst thing you can see is your QB double clutching, hitting the top of the drop and just waiting...pulling it down..leaving a pocket after 4 seconds..

Because it entirely indicates that the receivers are incapable of getting open early or late.

We're going to end up having to dumb down the offense for them. No more option routes for anyone other than Kelce. Just run your route and get to a spot.

Yeah, I saw people on Twitter bitching about Mahomes bailing from a clean pocket. Why do you think that is?! He's got a timer in his head and even though the O-line is doing great he knows this play is taking too long.

I understand Veach wanted to create a balanced team so we spent the last few years focused on adding to the D.

Next year I want all offense and weapons.

I have the opposite perspective. A lukewarm offense + a great defensive performance is unsettling for us. A great offense + a lukewarm defensive performance is usually satisfying.

I’d rather our offense just do their thing and have the defense figure things out.

Because I also don’t trust even a loaded defense to consistently stop all our top competition on offense. They’ll have games where the other offense just eats. On the other hand I think our offense CAN consistently play well against even the best of defenses.

My favorite part of this team...

Expensive as **** and highly drafted OL up and down the board...can't run for 1 yard on 3rd down.
