Andy Reid called me, and he asked CP to fix the offense.

I think we can all agree the offense has not been up to par this season.

At this point, there's only so much we can do about it. Our best WR got injured and is missing the season, our best RB is out until December, our LT situation is messy and our stud TE is looking his age.

So, is this who we are now? Is 30 points a game a distant memory?

What can be done?

(Andy Reid is lurking in this thread, so make sure you're on your best behavior.)

Not sure if anybody noticed but Kingsley was actually on the field with Wanya on like 3 or 4 snaps which illustrates this point even further. And yes some of those plays were passes.

Anyone screaming “but NaGY!!!” isn’t watching the tape. LT is a massive problem right now. And Steele needs to be off the field on obvious passing downs and even 2nd down passing bc he’s getting Mahomes killed missing his blocks on blitzes.

LT is a major major problem and the playcalling is showing that.

Mahomes mechanics were off and he had ball placement issues 2 times in a row on 3rd down to Rice where they had the play but he threw behind Rice instead of leading him.

Kelce had a terrible drop on 3rd down as well.

Rice ran the wrong route on another 3rd down.

Also mentioned the lack of creativity on run plays down by the goal line and Reid being too conservative in Atlanta territory.

No mention of LT at all, and he said the plays were designed plenty well and they had guys open to and just didn't make the plays mainly because Mahomes was off.

I don't think you can blame Nagy for Mahomes playing like he did. He had opportunities he just didn't cash in.

Sometimes the All-22 helps a lot.

But I feel like it's really not been necessary the last couple of weeks. It's been clear in real time what the issue is.

Now the WHY of it may be harder to put a finger on. There's no reason for Pat to be this far out of whack.

But he very obviously is.

Keep dodging the point. LT is a massive problem now because of the idiocy of the staff against the Bengals. Leaving Kingsley on an island against Hendrickson was absolutely ****ing stupid, and now we're going to have to suffer through Morris because of it. This team has enough struggles right now, self inflicted bullshit is unacceptable.

He loses more slowly.

The problem with Kingsley was that he was getting beat fast and in the same fashion repeatedly.

Morris is limited but right now more technically sound. He'll die a slower death. And ultimately that's more important than winning more often.

If I have a guy that wins 80% of his reps outright but gets face-raped on the other 20% and another guy who wins 65% of his reps but loses slowly on the other 35%, I'm gonna take the latter. At least with a QB in Mahomes that does a nice job (generally) of buying space and time.

The only thing you can do to truly submarine the entire offense is get beat fast.

Morris typically doesn't - Raiders game last year being the LOUD and extremely worrisome exception.

They don’t have a playable LT on the roster right now unfortunately. Sad reality

That is so well put and explains what I mean by not noticing Wanya's suck on the TV copy. Because even his losses weren't preventing the plays from developing from what I could see.

When Kingsley was losing, it was just like play over. Instantly. Hope Mahomes doesn't fumble. Totally destroys the functionality of the scheme.

It's how Morris looked in the Raiders game.

It really does speak to the need for a little experience at the position. Because if Morris gives us 12-13 games like his baseline mediocre last season, we can stomach 2-3 games closer to the Raiders game.

Kingsley made it look like we MIGHT be lucky to get a 50/50 split in that regard. As bad as he looked vs. Cincy, he's not gonna look THAT bad every time out. But he could have looked that bad 6-8 times and that's just too much.

Their 3rd round rookie played better than Kingsley did last week. May have been a fluke, but it was true.

When Morris was a disaster against the Raiders, the entire offense failed. It wasn't terribly dissimilar to the Bengals game.

I can see saying "hey, it happens - keep firing" and moving along. But as a rearview snapshot, it IS the reality the Chiefs were working with at that time in the Bengals game.

Eh.

Morris is playable.

He's not a ton more than that, but it seems like by and large, you'll get average to slightly below from him.

That's pretty much the exact definition of 'playable' if certainly sub-optimal.

So, at what point is it someone else's issue if the offense needs 5 really good OL for it to operate?

Is it any coincidence that Mahomes' worst games in recent memory were the ones where the LT was getting their ass whooped with instant losses? I mean that would get in my head too.

I think we are finding out that the blindside part is real for Mahomes.

He's worked around shitty RT play many times. Won a Super Bowl with a below average one.

But on the left, you can't see what's happening and I think that explains the sloppy footwork and rushed throws.
